Almost exactly a year ago today, Sim-Lab revealed its official Mercedes-AMG F1 steering wheel. This partnership has continued to grow over the past 12 months, and today, Sim-Lab announced its next officially licensed Mercedes-AMG product.
The Sim-Lab Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team Sim Racing Cockpit is a premium formula-style sim racing cockpit, created by Sim-Lab, in partnership with Mercedes-AMG F1 team. The cockpit includes the sturdiest aluminium profile ever found on a Sim-Lab sim rig, official Mercedes-AMG branding, and a true Formula 1 seating position.
How much does the Sim-Lab Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team Sim Racing Cockpit cost?
Following the trend set by the incredibly premium Mercedes-AMG F1 steering wheel, this cockpit is incredibly premium. It is the most expensive cockpit Sim-Lab currently sells, even out pricing the P1X Ultimate cockpit.

Everything you need to know about this new Sim-Lab cockpit
This new cockpit is an example of Sim-Lab taking a working formula, and applying it to a licensed sim rig for the first time. In the past, the only licensed Sim-Lab cockpit we’ve seen is a Team Redline variant. This is the companies first true licensed cockpit.
Design
The design is a pretty big departure from the usual Sim-Lab formula. The colour of the aluminium profile used is a Mercedes-AMG F1 grey, rather than the usual Sim-Lab black. There are PETRONAS blue accents used for the washer caps, and the Mercedes-AMG F1 team logo across the side of the cockpit.
Brand new, thicker aluminium profile
Delving deeper than the design, this cockpit uses a brand new, proprietary aluminum profile, designed specifically for this cockpit. These pieces of aluminium extrusion are wider than the usual 40mm that Sim-Lab normally uses. This ensures extra rigidity and enhances the cockpits capability to handle extreme forces with zero flex.

Adjustability
Like all Sim-Lab cockpits, this F1 variant is extremely customisable and adjustable. You can change your driving position, and the position of your racing wheel and pedal mounting. While being designed as a true F1 cockpit, you can adjust it for a GT driving position.
New racing seat
As a part of this new Mercedes-AMG branded project, Sim-Lab has designed and developed a brand new seat. This seat is manufactured from reinforced GRP, and is designed to closely replicate a real-world Formula 1 seat.
The seat itself id finished in a 3D breathable fabric, similar to the SPEED racing seats that are available. The headrest features the official Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team logo to round out the cockpit.
When is the Sim-Lab Mercedes-AMG F1 cockpit release date?
This new Mercedes-AMG F1 cockpit is released on the 16th July 2025, with pre-orders opening at 20:00 GMT on the 16th July. On the Sim-Lab website, shipping is slated to start at the end of August, meaning those who pre-order, or order early, could receive their cockpits early September.
