F1 25 Circuit Zandvoort Setup & Track Guide

Zandvoort is one of the tightest, most technical tracks on the calendar. With its narrow layout, old-school barriers, and tricky banked corners, it demands maximum precision and rhythm. It’s all about nailing sector flow, carrying momentum, and staying smooth.

Sector 1: Tarzanbocht to Hugenholtzbocht

Turn 1 (Tarzanbocht)

  • Brake hard at the 100m board — late but controlled.
  • Clip a tight apex; a wide line can leave you vulnerable.
  • Focus on getting a clean exit for the short blast to Turn 2.

Turns 2–3 (Gerlachtbocht & Hugenholtzbocht)

  • Light lift through Turn 2, then brake for the tight, banked Turn 3.
  • Hug the inside line on the banking — don’t drift too high or you lose drive.
  • Patience on throttle is key; early power will just spin the rear tires.

Sector 2: Sweeping Middensectie

Turns 4–5 (Rob Slotemakerbocht & Scheivlak)

  • Turn 4 is nearly flat — line up carefully to open up Scheivlak.
  • Turn 5 is one of the fastest, scariest corners: small lift or full commitment, depending on car balance.
  • Precision on the entry matters — a mistake here ruins the whole middle sector.

Turns 6–7 (Mastersbocht)

  • Brake just before the curb on the right.
  • Cut as tight as possible; don’t compromise the exit, as you need speed down the next short straight.

Turns 8–9 (Bocht 8 & Bocht 9)

  • Sharp left-right — brake slightly earlier than you think.
  • The second apex (Turn 9) demands a smooth, early throttle pickup; be gentle to avoid understeer or snap oversteer.

Sector 3: Kumhobocht to Arie Luyendykbocht

Turns 10–11–12 (Hans Ernst Chicane)

  • Brake hard into Turn 10; don’t overrun the inside curb.
  • Carefully thread Turns 11 and 12; stay patient and set up the car for a clean blast onto the banked final corner.

Turn 13 (Kumhobocht)

  • Tight and slow; trail brake in and prioritize traction on the way out.

Turn 14 (Arie Luyendykbocht)

  • Banked, high-speed final corner.
  • Stay wide on entry, then cut in and hammer the throttle early — this leads onto the pit straight where top speed matters.

Car Setup Tips

  • Wings: Medium-to-high downforce — Zandvoort’s twisty nature rewards cornering over straight-line speed.
  • Suspension: Soft enough to handle elevation changes and banked corners; keep rear stable under traction.
  • Brakes: Medium pressure; you need stability on turn-in but can’t afford lockups.
  • Differential: Open on entry to help rotation; slightly closed on exit for drive out of slow corners.
  • Ride Height: Slightly raised to handle the aggressive curbs and banking.

Driving Tips

Stay smooth: Zandvoort punishes aggressive steering or throttle.
Maximize flow: Think ahead — late apexes and clean exits matter more than aggressive entries.
Commit to the fast corners: Turns like Scheivlak are all about bravery and trust in your car.
Qualify well: Overtaking is tough, so grid position is critical.
ERS deployment: Use mainly down the main straight; hold back through the twisty sections where overtakes are rare.
