Car Setup & Track Guide

F1 25 Marina Bay Street Circuit Setup & Track Guide

Singapore is the ultimate street circuit test — tight walls, relentless corners, and brutal physical demands. It’s not about raw speed but precision, traction management, and mental focus over a long, punishing lap. To be fast here, you need to nail braking points, avoid rear tire overheating, and maximize acceleration out of slow corners.

Sector 1: Turns 1–7

Turn 1–2–3 (Opening Complex)

  • Brake hard at around the 100m board; clip the inside curb at Turn 1, then swing right for Turn 2.
  • Watch for oversteer on throttle through Turn 3 — short-shift to keep the rear stable.
  • Carry as much speed as you can; every km/h matters on the run to Turn 5.

Turn 5 (Fast Right-Hander)

  • A key overtaking spot. Brake a touch earlier than you think, and prioritize exit speed onto the long straight.
  • Activate DRS as soon as you can.

Turn 7 (Heavy Brake Zone)

  • One of the hardest stops on the track. Brake at the 100m board, down to second gear, and avoid locking up.
  • Don’t run too wide on exit — there’s a wall waiting.

Sector 2: Turns 8–15

Turn 8 (Tight Hairpin)

  • Big traction zone; brake late but smooth, and use good throttle modulation on exit.

Turns 10–13 (Old “Singapore Sling” & Bridge Section)

  • Flow and rhythm matter here.
  • Be careful over the curbs; they can unsettle the car if hit too aggressively.
  • Through Turn 13, brake early and hug the inside wall to get the shortest line.

Turn 14 (Under the Bridge)

  • Another big braking zone; be smooth on the wheel to avoid over-rotation.

Sector 3: Turns 16–23

Turns 16–19 (Stadium Section)

  • Tight, technical section; patience is everything.
  • Brake early, use minimal steering input, and stay smooth on throttle to avoid losing the rear.

Turns 20–21 (Fast Left-Right)

  • Slight lift or even full throttle depending on your setup.
  • Hug the inside walls and keep a tight line.

Turns 22–23 (Final Chicane)

  • Last tricky braking point — brake in a straight line, then attack the final curbs.
  • Don’t compromise exit speed; you need full throttle across the start-finish line.

Car Setup Tips

  • Wings: High downforce — you need max grip for all the slow, technical corners.
  • Suspension: Soft to medium to absorb curbs, but stiff enough to keep the car sharp.
  • Ride Height: Slightly raised to handle bumps and curbs.
  • Differential: Open on entry, a bit more locked on exit for traction.
  • Brakes: Medium pressure; it’s easy to lock up, so find a balance.
  • Tires: Manage rear temps carefully — lots of traction zones can overheat the rear tires.

Driving Tips

Patience on throttle: Overdriving will destroy your rear tires. Be smooth and early on power.
Attack the curbs carefully: Some curbs can save lap time, but others can spin you out. Learn the difference.
Stay focused: It’s a long, demanding race — mental fatigue leads to crashes here.
ERS + DRS strategy: Save battery for the main straight; you won’t gain much deploying in the twisty middle sectors.
