On the morning of the first official Formula 1 winter test, Alfa Romeo pulled the cloth of off their 2020 car. The Alfa Romeo C39 was officially unveiled at a press event an hour before the first test session and the new 2020 livery was revealed.
Drivers Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio Giovanazzi were the two who had the honours of revealing the new 2020 car at the Circuit de Catalunya.
Previous to winter testing, Alfa Romeo had launched their 2020 car in a camouflaged black snakeskin livery. As stunning as this livery was, everybody knew it wouldn’t make it to the track, and Alfa would change it to an official livery before the start of the season.

--- Article continues below --- Shop Sim Racing DiscountsSpeaking about Alfa Romeo’s prospects ahead of the F1 2020 season, Kimi Raikkonen, who could break Barrichello’s all time record and become the most experienced driver ever said:
“We know we have some areas where we can’t match the big teams but we try to do the best with what we have and it didn’t really end up last year where we wanted but we had a really good first half of the season, then we struggled a bit… we can learn from last year’s difficulties and hopefully we don’t repeat it this year.”
The below video is a comparison of the Alfa Romeo F1 livery from 2020 compared to their 2019 livery. Watch this video to see how Alfa Romeo have developed their F1 car from the C38 to their new C39 Formula 1 car for the upcoming 2020 season.
Veteran Raikkonen will be joined on the grid by his Italian team mate Giovinazzi, who had an OK rookie season last year. Giovinazzi scored 14 points and finished 17th overall in the driver standings. This allowed his team to finish in 8th place overall. This was disappointing based on their form in the previous season, where Alfa were often seen as the best of the rest.
The first driver who will get to drive this 2020 Alfa Romeo F1 car will be reserve driver Robert Kubica. Kubica joined Alfa Romeo at the end of 2019, after an unsuccessful year at Williams F1 team. He will be joined by Tatiana Calderon a the team’s official test driver throughout the F1 2020 season.
