Whether you’re just getting your wings or you’ve been virtually flying for years, this year’s Black Friday sales could offer some seriously tempting deals. We’re likely to see discounts on everything from yokes and throttles to high-end VR headsets and gaming rigs that can actually handle Microsoft Flight Simulator without melting into a puddle of silicon.

Flight simulation hardware isn’t the cheapest. A decent HOTAS setup can set you back hundreds, and you’ll also need a powerful gaming PC, especially if you’re looking to fly in VR. But Black Friday is that magical time of year when retailers slash prices, making it the perfect time to get started in the hobby of flight simulation, or upgrade your setup.

In this buyer’s guide, I’m going to dive into which flight sim products you should be watching for when Black Friday rolls around on November 28th, 2025.

What to expect from Black Friday this year

To start, Black Friday isn’t just a single day anymore. We can expect most retailers and flight sim brands to run their sales for the entire week, sometimes even starting the weekend before.

Last year, flight sim add-ons and hardware saw discounts ranging from 25% all the way up to 60% on certain items. This included hardware from yokes and HOTAS controls, through to virtual reality headsets and flight sim cockpits.

The Microsoft Flight Simulator marketplace even got in on the action with significant discounts on aircraft, scenery packs, and airports. Based on last year, expect similar or even better deals for 2025.

Virtual Reality: The Game-Changing Experience

I’m going to start by looking at virtual reality headsets, because in the world of flight simulation, VR can be a gamechanger. While an ultrawide monitor is great for seeing the open sky in front of you. Nothing beats being able to immerse yourself in the cockpit of a Cessna 152 or Airbus A320Neo.

Pimax Crystal Super: Next level VR gaming

If you’re serious about getting the best visuals in VR right now, the Pimax Crystal Super is pretty hard to top. This thing is a beast—it’s rocking QLED panels, crazy brightness, and a jaw-dropping 29 million pixels. That works out to around 50–57 pixels per degree, which basically means everything looks insanely sharp and detailed. Text is crisp, colors pop, and once you see it, it’s tough to go back to anything else.

You will need a powerful PC to get the most out of it. We’re talking at least an RTX 3070 or better. But if your setup can handle it, the Crystal Super’s visuals are on another level. The headset comes with two controllers, six built-in tracking cameras (so no base stations needed), and even a pass-through mode so you can see your room without taking it off.

Get 3% Discount on the Pimax Crystal Super

We have an exclusive discount that will grant a 3% discount on the Crystal Super (or any Pimax headset). This code does stack with other Black Friday promotions, so it’s well worth trying.

Use the code SIMRACINGSETUP at the checkout, when shopping on Pimax.

Comfort-wise, it’s surprisingly good for a headset this powerful. The balance feels right, and it’s got improved padding and cooling so you can stay in VR longer without feeling like you’re wearing a brick on your head.

As for the price, it’s up there. But Pimax does offer financing options, and honestly, with Black Friday around the corner, it might be worth waiting for a deal. Still, if you’re the kind of person who wants top-tier visuals and doesn’t mind investing in the best, the Crystal Super absolutely delivers.

Meta Quest 3: The biggest bang for your buck

The Meta Quest 3 might not have the raw horsepower of something like the Pimax Crystal Super, but it’s become the go-to headset for flight sim in 2025—and for good reason. It hits that perfect balance between performance, comfort, and price, making it super easy to recommend. The jump in resolution and clarity over the Quest 2 is noticeable right away, and the new lenses make everything look sharper and cleaner.

One of the best parts about the Quest 3 is its flexibility. You can use it as a fully standalone headset for casual gaming or media, but plug it into your PC and it transforms into a seriously capable sim racing headset. The setup process is quick, the tracking is solid, and the visuals are more than good enough for immersive racing sessions.

Comfort’s another win here—the headset’s lighter, better balanced, and feels less front-heavy than older models, which makes long races way more comfortable.

And if you’re thinking of picking one up, it’s worth waiting for Black Friday. Last year, the base model dipped to around £400/$400, and there’s a good chance we’ll see similar or even better bundles this year—possibly with a few bonus games thrown in.

Flight Controls: Yokes, Sticks, and Throttles

This is where you can save some serious cash if you time it right. Flight sim controls range from entry-level gear that’ll set you back fifty bucks to professional-grade equipment that costs more than a used car. Black Friday is the perfect time to upgrade.

MOZA Flight Sim Hardware

MOZA, who are best known for their fast growing sim racing ecosystem, made a massive splash at FlightSimExpo 2025 by launching five new flight simulation products. They have brought the same engineering excellence to flight simulation, and the results are pretty impressive.

The AB9 Force Feedback Base is their flagship product and it’s a real absolute game-changer. This thing uses dual servo motors to deliver up to 12Nm of torque with force feedback that makes you feel every bump, vibration, and control surface movement.

At around £550/0, it’s competitive with high-end options but delivers force feedback technology that was previously only available in much more expensive setups. When you’re hand-flying through turbulence or feeling the stick shake during a stall, the AB9 makes it visceral and real.

What makes the AB9 particularly impressive is the modularity. You can attach different grips depending on what you’re flying—fighter jets, general aviation, or commercial aircraft. The system is plug-and-play, hot-swappable, and works seamlessly with MSFS, X-Plane, DCS, and IL-2. It even doubles as a force feedback gear shifter if you also like to dabble in sim racing between flights.

The MH16 Flightstick is their fighter-style grip and it’s gorgeous. Price at £169/$169, it’s competitively priced compared to Thrustmaster’s metal F/A-18 grip which costs more, and the MH16 actually has more programmable inputs.

We’re talking aviation-grade aluminum construction, 30 programmable buttons and switches, and a modular design that lets you customize it to your preferences. The build quality is exceptional—this feels like something that would be at home in a military trainer.

The Turtle Beach VelocityOne Flightdeck

This thing is an absolute beast. We’re talking full yoke that rotates 180 degrees with hall effect sensors for zero dead zones, plus integrated throttle controls. It’s designed for people who want the complete cockpit experience without actually building a full cockpit.

Turtle Beach products usually see decent Black Friday discounts, typically in the 15-25% range. Given that the VelocityOne normally sits at a premium price point, even a 20% discount could save you a couple hundred dollars. This is the kind of investment that’ll transform your sim experience, especially if you’re flying GA aircraft or doing VFR work where precise control matters.

Logitech Flight Equipment

Logitech makes some of the most popular entry-to-mid-range flight sim gear out there. Their products hit that sweet spot between affordability and quality. The Logitech G Flight Yoke System and the X56 HOTAS are staples in sim pilots’ setups worldwide.

These typically see aggressive Black Friday pricing, sometimes up to 30-40% off. If you’re just getting started or want to upgrade from a basic joystick, Black Friday Logitech deals are hard to beat. Keep an eye on Amazon and the Logitech store itself—they often compete with each other on pricing, which works in your favor.

Honeycomb: Premium Gear

If you want the absolute best in consumer-grade flight sim controls, Honeycomb is where it’s at. Their Alpha Flight Controls and Bravo Throttle Quadrant are designed to feel and function like real aircraft equipment. These things are built like tanks and will outlast pretty much anything else you can buy.

Honeycomb doesn’t discount as aggressively as some other manufacturers—you’re looking at maybe 10-20% off during Black Friday. But considering the quality and longevity, even a small discount on Honeycomb gear is worth jumping on. They rarely go on sale otherwise.

Flight Sim Chairs and Cockpit Frames

Next Level Racing makes the most popular sim racing and flight cockpits. Their F-GT Elite can be configured for both racing and flying, which is perfect if you’re into both.

Black Friday typically brings 20-25% off cockpit solutions. These cockpits are expensive (getting close to the thousand pound or dollar mark), so any discount helps. If you’re serious about building a dedicated sim setup, this is when to buy. Otherwise, you’re stuck in your desk chair wondering why your back hurts after a three-hour transatlantic flight.

Flight Simulator Software & Add-Ons: MSFS

MSFS 2024 brought massive improvements over its predecessor, including the ability to actually get out of your aircraft and explore incredibly detailed environments across 27 biomes. The physics engine got a complete overhaul, making everything from small GA aircraft to heavy airliners feel more realistic than ever.

Expect to see MSFS 2024 itself discounted during Black Friday, likely by 20-30%. If you haven’t picked it up yet, this is your moment. The Premium Deluxe edition, which comes with additional aircraft and airports, will probably see steeper discounts since Microsoft tends to use Black Friday to push their higher-tier packages.

MSFS Marketplace Add-Ons

The in-marketplace add-ons are where things get really interesting. Last year’s Black Friday saw developers offering anywhere from 30-60% off their products, and there’s no reason to think 2025 will be any different. Here’s what to look for:

Aircraft: Fenix Simulations completely dominated the 2025 Flight Sim Awards with their A319/A321 expansion, and their level of systems depth is legendary. These guys usually offer modest Black Friday discounts, but even 20% off a high-fidelity airliner is worth grabbing. Also watch for PMDG aircraft, which are the gold standard for Boeing simulations.

Scenery Packs: Companies like Flightbeam Studios and FSDreamTeam typically go big on Black Friday. Last year, FSDreamTeam offered 40% off their entire catalog, and Flightbeam ran significant discounts as well. If you’ve been eyeing that detailed version of your home airport or dream destination, bookmark these stores now.

Utility Software: BeyondATC won the tools category at the 2025 Flight Sim Awards for a reason—it’s an AI-powered ATC system that’s miles beyond the default. These types of tools usually see 25-35% discounts during Black Friday. Navigraph subscriptions might also go on sale, which is essential if you want real-world navigation data and charts.

Where to Find the Best Black Friday Deals

With many brands offering flight sim hardware, it can be hard to keep up with all Black Friday deals. Knowing where to look, and crucially, when to look, can be the difference between grabbing a deal and missing out.

Amazon

Amazon is probably one of the first places to check for deals on flight sim gear. They stock a lot of products, inclduing most of the hardware I’ve mentioned in this buyer’s guide.

You’ll find brands from Logitech, Thrustmaster, MOZA, Honeycomb and more on Amazon. During Black Friday, they’ll often match or beat manufacturer websites, making them a great place to start shopping.

Manufacturer websites

If you know exactly what you’re looking for this Black Friday, checking brand websites and social media directly can be the best option. Say you are shopping for a MOZA AB9 base. Checking their website, or signing up to the MOZA newsletter could be the best way to be notified of any deal.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much can I save on flight sim products during Black Friday?

A basic entry-level flight sim setup can cost upwards of £800-1,200 (when including a budget gaming PC, simple joystick, existing monitor). Shopping during Black Friday can easily knock 10-20% off any product price, depending on which sales are available.

Where can I find the best Black Friday flight simulator deals?

Amazon is a great place to start shopping for flight sim hardware, as well as VR headsets and pre-built PCs. Specialty stores like Flightsimwebshop.com are ideal for flight controls, and the Microsoft Flight Simulator marketplace for software and add-ons.

Are force feedback flight controls worth it?

Absolutely, if you’re serious about realistic flight simulation. Force feedback systems like MOZA’s AB9 base or AY210 yoke let you feel aerodynamic forces, trim changes, turbulence, and control surface loads through your controls. This dramatically increases immersion and helps you develop better flying technique. The main downsides are cost (typically £500-£1,000 for a quality FFB base) and the learning curve.
