Car Setup & Track Guide
F1 25 Autodromo Nazionale Monza Setup & Track Guide
Monza is the fastest circuit on the calendar, with massive straights, minimal downforce, and brutal braking zones. To be quick here, you need low drag, late braking confidence, and a car that stays stable over curbs. Mistakes come from either overslowing the car or getting too greedy on corner entry.
Sector 1: Rettifilo (Turn 1–2, Variante del Rettifilo)
✅ Main straight
- Deploy ERS fully — top speed is king.
- Slipstreaming is critical in both qualifying and the race.
✅ Turns 1–2 (First Chicane)
- Brake just after the 150m board; it’s a heavy, tricky stop.
- Attack the first curb, but don’t overcut the second curb or you’ll spin or get a penalty.
- Watch traction on exit; avoid wheelspin.
Sector 2: Curva Grande to Ascari
✅ Turn 3 (Curva Grande)
- Flat-out right-hander; use it to close up or defend.
- Stay smooth on the steering to minimize tire scrub.
✅ Turns 4–5 (Variante della Roggia)
- Brake at about 100m; attack the first sausage curb, but keep control.
- Second curb is tighter — focus on a clean exit, as it leads into Lesmo.
✅ Turns 6–7 (Lesmo 1 & 2)
- Lesmo 1: Brake around the 50m board, slightly trail the brakes in, and keep tight.
- Lesmo 2: Slightly faster, but you must get a strong exit onto the long back straight.
Sector 3: Ascari and Parabolica
✅ Turns 8–10 (Ascari Chicane)
- Brake just before the 100m board.
- Attack the first left curb, balance the car through the middle, and don’t overrun the right-hand exit curb or you’ll invalidate the lap.
- Carry momentum.
✅ Turn 11 (Parabolica / Curva Alboreto)
- Brake gently (about 50m), trail brake in, and focus fully on the exit.
- Get on the throttle as early as you can without running wide — this exit sets up the long start-finish straight.
Car Setup Tips
- Wings: Very low (minimum) — prioritize top speed.
- Suspension: Stiff enough to handle curbs but soft enough for traction out of slow chicanes.
- Brakes: High pressure; you need maximum stopping power.
- Differential: Closed on throttle for strong traction; open on coast to help rotation into slow corners.
- Ride Height: Low for max straight-line efficiency, but avoid bottoming out on curbs.
Driving Tips
✅ Brake late but controlled: You’ll gain most time under braking — practice hitting your marks consistently.
✅ Use curbs aggressively: The chicanes reward curb attack but will punish overdoing it.
✅ Prioritize exits: Especially out of Lesmo 2 and Parabolica; the straights are so long that poor exits cost big.
✅ ERS management: Focus on using ERS down the main straight and into Ascari.
✅ Qualify well: Slipstreaming is huge here, so plan your quali laps carefully (find a tow).
