Along with tracks like Spa in Belgium, Monza in Italy is up there as one of the fastest. It is characterised by long straights broken up by slow and medium speed corners. With this track all about straight line performance, and the AI being so brokenly fast in a straight line, its pretty obvious what approach this setup will take.

Aero setup

I’m going to waste no time and jump right into the aero setup for Monza as this is probably the easiest aero to set up along with tracks like Monaco. There is really no other way to go than 0 on both front and rear wings. You could, if you really want, add 1 or 2 clicks of front wing to help with a little more rotation, but it really isn’t needed for a race setup.

Transmission setup

With the transmission, there are two distinct areas we need to optimise, and it really results in a differential setup that you need to change mid race. There are the super slow chicanes in the first and second sectors which ideally require a low on throttle differential. And then there is the rest of the track which is all medium and high speed which works best with a high diff.

I have gone reasonably in the middle with 75%. This is a good set it and forget it option, but to really get the most out of the car. I’d recommend lowering it on your way into the first chicane, and increasing it as you head towards the two Lesmo corners.

Then go with 25% off throttle which is incredibly low. This just helps you get the car turned into the slow chicane without the need for any increased front wing angle.

Suspension geometry setup

With the geometry, I have it all set to the left once again.

Suspension setup

For the suspension setup, I have a pretty standard approach of 41 and 1, followed by 9 and 21 anti-roll bars. This setup will give us the best traction at slow speed, while keeping the car responsive and stable thanks to the ARBs.

Go with 21 and 49 on the ride height which is intentionally high to avoid porpoising along the pit straight, and to allow you to hit the higher kerbs with a bit more confidence.

Brake setup

A pretty neutral brake bias of 55% is ideal at Monza. It allows for good performance at the majority of corners, and can even be increased up to 56% heading into the first chicane. But if you do this, just watch out for front locking. Then go with 100% brake pressure.

Tyre setup

With the tyre setup I have gone with maximum pressures all around. This will aid with top speed, increasing it as much as possible. But it also helps battle tyre temperature build up and ultimately, tyre wear.

Conclusion

That will complete our Monza car setup, and really, this is one of the easier tracks in F1 25 to both drive, and create a car setup for. There aren’t too many different approaches we can take when looking at setting up the car here due to the high speed layout.

If you’re racing online in a league, or trying to put in the fastest laps possible, check out our pro F1 25 setups. They run a higher downforce setup, with more rotation with a focus on higher minimum corner speeds.
