The Red Bull Ring is one of the shortest and fastest tracks on the Formula 1 calendar, with just 10 corners and three DRS zones. This makes it a fast and flowing circuit in F1 25, and tenths of a second make a huge difference. Below, I’ll look at tips for every corner, setup tips, and race strategies to help you get faster and dominate online or career mode.
Focus areas for the Red Bull Ring in F1 25.
- Optimise your traction out of slow corners (Turns 1, 3, 4)
- Aggressive use of kerbs in the middle sector
- A car setup with high top speeds, balanced with enough downforce for the final sector
Sector 1 – Turns 1–3: Heavy Braking & Acceleration
- Turn 1 (Castrol Edge): Uphill right-hander; brake hard at the 100m board, downshift to third gear. Focus on an early apex and maximize exit speed for the DRS straight. Avoid running too wide, as track limits are tight.
- Turn 2: Not a real corner, but a kink before the heavy braking zone — position the car on the far left.
- Turn 3 (Remus Hairpin): One of the slowest corners; brake hard at ~120m, down to first or second gear. Watch for rear locking and avoid aggressive throttle on exit.
Key tip: Prioritize clean exits from Turns 1 and 3, as they lead onto long DRS zones.
Sector 2 – Turns 4–7: Fast Entries & Kerb Attacks
- Turn 4 (Schlossgold): Downhill heavy braking; brake at ~100m, down to second or third gear. Watch for snap oversteer on exit.
- Turn 5: Flat-out left kink — easy flat, but position the car for Turn 6.
- Turn 6–7 (Rauch & Würth Kurve): Fast right-hander followed by a tricky left. Lift slightly or light brake into Turn 6; carry speed but avoid the inside sausage kerb. Turn 7 requires a clean, early apex to hold momentum.
Key tip: Use the kerbs aggressively but stay within track limits — invalidated laps are common here in time trial mode.
Sector 3 – Turns 8–10: Precision & Traction
- Turn 8 (Rindt): Fast right-hander; lift slightly, commit early, and trust the car’s grip. Be careful on the exit kerb.
- Turn 9 (Red Bull Mobile): Final right-hander onto the main straight; brake lightly or lift, hit a late apex, and prioritize exit speed.
Key tip: The final two corners are where lap time can be won or lost — practice them repeatedly to build consistency.

✅ Stay within track limits: Many corners (especially Turns 1, 9, 10) are easy to invalidate — keep the car clean for consistent lap times.
✅ Optimize traction zones: Short-shifting on exit from hairpins helps avoid wheelspin, preserving rear tyre life.
Austria Race Strategy for F1 25
- Optimal One-Stop: Medium → Hard, pit around Lap 9-11.
- Two-Stop (Aggressive): Medium → Hard → Medium , only if you expect Safety Cars or are chasing track position.
- ERS Deployment: Use to attack and defend into Turns 3 and 4. Harvest ERS in sector 3 where overtaking is less likely.
- Fuel Load: Slightly under-fuel and lift and coast where required at Turns 3 and 4.
