The new Fanatec Podium DD wheel base has been designed by the German sim racing brand to replace its premium DD2 wheel. The DD2 has been out of production for a little while now, meaning the ClubSport DD+ has been the most powerful Fanatec wheel you could buy for a few years. This is all set to change with the new Podium DD wheel.
This new generation of premium Fanatec wheel base features a host of improvements over the DD2 and integrates technology from the ClubSport DD+. We get the return of FullForce technology that was debuted in the ClubSport DD wheel base.
We do get a significant power increase compared to the ClubSport wheel base, with the Podium DD boasting 25Nm of peak torque. Fanatec are also stating that the 25Nm is of genuine holding torque. This will grant torque stability rather than peaks of 25Nm, with a possible 33Nm of peak overshoot.
Fanatec are boasting that the Podium DD will have the widest dynamic range of any Fanatec wheel base ever created. This should boost force feedback details and clarity throughout the entire torque range, resulting in incredibly detailed and precise force feedback.
The new base is also completely constructed of aluminium, both internally and externally, and it include a 10cm shaft extension as default.
Overall this is looking like it will be one of the best Fanatec wheels we’ve seen. Below is a complete run down of all features of this new wheel.
Fanatec has stated a Q1 2026 release for the Podium DD wheel base, without stating specific dates.

The Podium pedals feature a forged aluminium brake pedal, which is an industry first, and allows for incredible strength. Like many premium sim racing pedals, the Podium pedals feature a host of tool-free adjustments.
You can change the pedal stack which will affect the characteristics of the braking and throttle force. There is also an adjustable dial which gives instant tweaks to the pedal behaviours.
The custom load cell that Fanatec is using in the Podium pedals is rated up to 200kg, with 150kg pressure at the pedal plate. This puts these sim racing pedals up alongside other premium pedals such as the Sim-Lab XP1’s.
One of the big features of these new pedals are the individual pedal design. Each pedal can be mounted completely independently of one another, or together using a mounting plate.
The new Podium pedals come in two variants initially. There is a full three pedal set named the “Podium Pedals”, and a two pedal set with some tweaks that is called the “Podium Pedals Formula”.
The Formula pedals feature wider pedal plates and additional heel rests, closely mimicking the design of actual formula pedals. They feature all of the same performance characteristics as the three pedal set.
Below are the Fanatec Podium Pedal variants compared.
