Le Mans Ultimate is quickly becoming one of the most popular GT3 and endurance racing sim titles around, and has recently celebrated its version 1.0 game launch. It follows in the footsteps of titles such as ACC and iRacing with its physics firmly routed in the simulation category.

For this reason, its a game that is best suited to a racing wheel and pedal set. Dialling in the best force feedback settings for your racing wheel will help you get the most immersion and feedback while driving. In this guide, I’m focusing on Fanatec racing wheels, and sharing our recommended wheel settings for all Fanatec wheels for Le Mans Ultimate.

How to set up any Fanatec racing wheel in Le Mans Ultimate

Le Mans Ultimate currently only available on PC, making wheel compatibility a non-issue. Although an Xbox and PS5 release is slated for 2026! Due to it being PC-only, all Fanatec racing wheels and steering wheels work in game.

To set up a Fanatec wheel in LMU, there are a few steps you should follow. Below is a quick and easy to follow set up guide.

  1. Connect your Fanatec wheel to your PC
Step 1 is always to mount your wheel and pedals, and connect it up to your PC via the included USB cables.
  2. Check for firmware updates
With LMU being one of the newer sim racing games, firmware updates can be released to improve various parts of the force feedback. So it’s always worth checking if an update is available for your wheel. You can download the latest version of the Fanatec software here.
  3. Adjust your force feedback settings in the Fanatec app
Before starting LMU, head into the Fanatec app or control panel, and copy our recommended settings from below. If you have a steering wheel with a display, you can do this from in game using the tuning menu.
  4. Enter the in-game force feedback settings
Next, start LMU, and enter our recommended wheel settings in game. Use the settings for your specific wheel to ensure the best force feedback.
  5. Adjust button mapping
The final step is to head into the primary controls section and run through your button mapping. Select an in-game action and then press the corresponding input on your wheel to map that function.

The ClubSport DD and DD+ are Fanatec’s current high-performance racing wheels. The CS DD outputs 12Nm of peak torque, while the DD+ outputs 17Nm. The recommended settings below have been tested across both wheels. If the force feedback feels too heavy, reduce the in-game setting rather than the Fanatec wheel setting.

Which Fanatec wheel is best for Le Mans Ultimate?

There isn’t a bad option among Fanatec’s current lineup of racing wheels. The CSL DD is an excellent entry-level direct drive wheel, while the Clubsport DD+ is a great option if you crave more performance.

However, there is one Fanatec wheel I’d recommend for most, and that is the GT DD Pro. Both the Clubsport DD and DD+ are quite pricey, while the GT DD Pro sits in the mid-range price bracket.

This makes the GT DD Pro more affordable, while still offering excellent force feedback performance. At 8Nm of peak torque, this wheel is more than strong enough for most sim racers, and also offers PlayStation compatibility if you fancy racing Gran Turismo 7.
