MOZA Racing Cuts Price of R12 Wheel Base By Almost $100

MOZA Racing has announced today that they are slashing the price of the R12 wheel base by almost $100. This price reduction comes alongside the reveal of the upgraded R12 racing wheel which features an improved force feedback algorithm.
How much is the MOZA R12 price cut?
When it first launched over a year ago, the MOZA R12 was priced at $589 in the United States, £589 in the United Kingdom and €599 when buying in Europe.
At the time, this price was what we would expect from a direct drive racing wheel of this quality. It wasn’t in the same premium category that some high-end direct drive racing wheels like those from Simucube find themselves in. It also wasn’t an extremely budget racing wheel, after all, MOZA Racing already has the R3 and R5 that fill the budget racing wheel offerings.
Now, in 2024, MOZA has reduced the price of the R12 by a significant amount. The new price of the R12 wheel base is;
- $499.00
- €549.00
- £499.00
- AUD899.00
This represents a reduction in price of $90, £90 or €50. That is pretty significant as it reduces the price of this mid-range direct drive wheel by around 15%.

Is the new MOZA R12 price good value?
When looking at the value on offer we have to look at a few areas. First is the price along with the performance on offer. Then we also need to consider compatibility and compare it to other brands and other racing wheels in a similar price range.
In my experience, the MOZA R12 is without a doubt the best racing wheel MOZA Racing currently sells. It isn’t the most powerful—the R21 takes that spot. However, its direct drive servo motor offers the best and most well-rounded force feedback of any MOZA racing wheel. It also sits right in the sweet spot of force feedback strength at 12Nm of peak torque.

Shop Sim Racing Discounts
Compared to similar products, the obvious comparison is with Fanatec and their direct drive racing wheels. Fanatec offers two products that sit just under the R12 in peak performance, the GT DD Pro and CSL DD. Both of these wheels produce 8Nm of peak torque which is considerably less than the MOZA R12.
The GT DD Pro is currently priced higher than the R12 at $/€599.95, although it offers console compatibility, which the R12 does not. The CSL DD is cheaper, costing just $/€449.95, which makes it cheaper than the R12 ever so slightly.
If we were to directly compare the MOZA R12 with a Fanatec wheel in terms of performance, we would be looking at the MOZA R12 vs ClubSport DD, as these two wheels both produce 12Nm of peak torque.

The upgrades to the MOZA R12 wheel
As well as a price reduction, MOZA Racing has also upgraded the R12 wheel to include a new force feedback algorithm. Previously, the R12 was the first wheel that MOZA released that introduced new rumble and vibration technology, and it is once again the first MOZA wheel to be upgraded to include NexGen 3.0 force feedback.
What is NexGen 3.0 force feedback?
This upgrade is a new force feedback algorithm that allows the wheel to portray a smoother and more realistic racing experience. MOZA state that the “advanced algorithm eliminates swaying during straight-line driving and refines the natural inertia of the vehicle”.
