Logitech RS50 Launches: New Xbox & PS5 Racing Wheel
Logitech has released a brand new mid-range direct drive racing wheel to challenge Fanatec and MOZA. Is the Xbox & PS5 compatible RS50 racing wheel worth buying?

Logitech have long been seen as the kings of budget sim racing with the G923 racing wheel. They do also have the Pro Racing Wheel, however, delivering 11Nm at a relatively high price point, makes it harder to justify.
Now, Logitech has released a true mid-range racing wheel to compete with Fanatec, MOZA and Thrustmaster. The Logitech RS50 is an 8Nm direct drive racing wheel with Xbox and PlayStation compatibility.
It can be purchased as an individual wheel base, or as a bundle, much like Fanatec’s Ready2Race bundles. In this guide, I’ll take an in-depth look at this new racing wheel, and whether it truly rivals its competitors.
What is the Logitech RS50?
The RS50 racing wheel is a PC, PlayStation and Xbox compatible direct drive racing wheel. It promises up to 8Nm of peak torque from its direct drive motor, eliminating any interference from belts or gears, which are commonly used on Logitech’s budget G923.

The wheel base comes with an integrated quick release system that lets you interchange the steering wheel. And using Logitech’s own QR adapter, you can use third-party steering wheels with the RS50 wheel base.
Logitech has also continued to support its own TRUEFORCE technology. This creates an immersive sim racing experience by utilising the in-game physics and audio to provide haptic feedback that can be felt through the steering wheel.
How much does the Logitech RS50 cost?
The good news is that Logitech has priced the RS50 to be ultra competitive within the mid-range sim racing hardware space. It costs from £249.99 / $349.99 / €299.99 for the wheel base, which does increase depending on which console compatible version you opt for.
For a complete bundle which includes the wheel base, steering wheel and table clamp, the RS50 costs from £599.99 / $699.99 / €649.99. There are also a set of RS pedals which will be available in the future, however, using Logitech’s G Racing Adapter will let you use pedals from any Logitech racing wheel with the RS50 wheel base.
When is the Logitech RS50 release date?
Logitech revealed the new RS50 racing wheel and bundle at the Logitech G Play 2025 event on the 17th September 2025. The RS50 wheel base and bundle went on sale and was released the same day, enabling customers to purchase them immediately.
The RS pedals that Logitech also announced are releasing later in 2025, at a price of $159.99 / €149.99, so they aren’t available for immediate purchase. However, we are sure that once they are available to buy, Logitech will release another bundle with the wheel base, steering wheel and pedal set all in one.
Compatibility of the RS50 racing wheel
Logitech has always prioritised console sim racing, with all of their products to-date including console compatibility. The new RS50 racing wheel is no different, with two versions available.
You can buy the RS50 in a PC and Xbox compatible version, or as a PC and PlayStation compatible version. This means that whichever platform you sim race on, there is an RS50 wheel that will work and be compatible.

This has long been the case with most sim racing brands having two distinct versions of their hardware to get around this compatibility issue.
Logitech RS50 gameplay and performance
The 8Nm direct drive motor, paired with Logitech’s TRUEFORCE technology is designed to create an incredibly detailed and feedback-heavy sim racing experience. The RS50 wheel is designed to be an attractive upgrade path for those using the budget-friendly Logitech wheel, the G923.
The Senior Global Product Manager Simulation at Logitech G, Richard Neville says “Whether you’re taking the Parabolica at Monza at top speed, or drifting in a rally stage, the level of torque, coupled with TRUEFORCE ensures you feel every detail in traction and every bump in the road. Combine that with the unrivaled control of the RS Pedals, and it transforms every race into an intense, emotional ride.”
Should I buy the RS50 or G Pro wheel?
Priced lower than the 11Nm Pro wheel, it offers a good amount of torque at a much more attractive price. In comparison, the Pro racing wheel can set you back around $999 / €1,099 for a similar bundle including the wheel base and steering wheel.
I often say that around 8-10Nm of peak torque is the true sweet spot for a direct drive wheel. Much higher than this, and the wheel can start to feel too aggressive.
The RS50 is designed as a true competitor to brands such as Fanatec, MOZA and Thrustmaster, who in recent years have released mid-range wheels. Logitech has been fairly quiet on this front, with just their budget friendly G923 and premium G Pro wheel available.
In comparison, Fanatec has the CSL DD and GT DD Pro which both offer up to 8Nm of peak torque. MOZA Racing has their own R9 wheel base which sits nicely in this category. And Thrustmaster has its recently released T598 racing wheel which has a lower 5Nm of peak torque.
With the RS50, Logitech now has a competitor product in this space. The brand has really owned the budget racing space, any with this wheel, we highly expect them to make big gains in the mid-range space as well.
What games work with the Logitech RS50?
Logitech racing wheels have always been well supported in most racing and driving games. Due to its popularity, game developers often prioritise including a preset configuration for Logitech wheels such as the G29 and G923.
This continues with the new RS50, with the wheel working in the majority of popular sim racing titles. Games such as Assetto Corsa Competizione, iRacing, the F1 games, Gran Turismo 7 and Le Mans Ultimate will all support the Logitech RS50.
Even popular driving simulators such as Euro Truck Simulator 2 and Framing Simulator will offer support for this new racing wheel. On PC, all of these games will be instantly supported, and via the RS50’s plug-and-play capability on console. The compatibility will continue to Xbox and PlayStation consoles also.
