How To Use iRacing Telemetry Files (.ibt)
We include .ibt files in all of our iRacing data packs. These files are raw telemetry exported from iRacing, showing a range of data from our setup creator’s best lap.
These can be read using the MOTEC i2 software, but do need to be converted first, before you can read them.
To convert .ibt files into MOTEC data, you need to use a piece of software called Mu.
- With Mu installed, you need to change the import and export file directory within the software itself.
- With the folders configured, Mu will automatically detect any new .ibt files, and will automatically convert them into a MOTEC Log File (.bit) and export them into the designated export folder location.
- Then open the new .bit file in the MOTEC i2 software to view the telemetry.
