How to use AI Coaching Feedback in our F1 Telemetry

One of the key features of our Sim Racing Setups F1 Telemetry Platform is the ability to use AI Coaching Feedback to identify key areas of improvement. This feature automatically runs in the background, and can provide notes about any corner.

What is AI Coaching Feedback?

AI coaching feedback is an automatic coach that will identify key areas from any lap where you could improve. Our AI coach compares your lap directly to any other reference lap, and you can select any lap to use.

This means you can compare your lap directly to a Pro driver lap, or your friends best lap. And in both scenarios, the AI coaching feedback will provide notes that are different. It directly compares your lap to whichever reference lap you have loaded so you can quickly identify key areas of improvement that other drivers are utilising.

The coach will provide feedback based on braking too early, carrying too little minimum speed, trail braking and much more.

How to use AI Coaching?

Our AI coaching tool can be accessed in two way;

  • In game using our live overlays
  • Post session in our telemetry platform.

How to access AI coaching during a session

Our F1 overlays allows you to utilise our real-time AI coaching as you drive. To get started, follow our instructions on how to set up F1 overlays. Once you have our F1 overlays running, follow the steps below to access live AI coaching in F1 26.

  1. Open our Sim Racing Setups F1 Overlays app, and start any session in F1 26.
  2. Head into the overlays screen, and enable the Real-Time Coach overlay.
    • Configure any settings for this overlay. There are various options that you can enable or disable. These include showing a speed delta chart, showing coaching notes, and a corner history. You can resize and position the Real-Time Coach overlay anywhere on your screen.
  3. Start driving and you will see the AI Coach start providing feedback in real-time.
  4. Feel free to pause your session at any time to read the coaching notes in more detail.

How to access more detailed AI coaching post session

After a session or just a single lap is complete, you can access more detailed AI coaching from our telemetry platform. You can access AI coaching on any of your recorded laps from your most recent session, or your fastest lap from previous sessions.

To analyse laps and access coaching feedback from our F1 telemetry platform, follow the steps below.

  1. Log into our F1 telemetry platform.
  2. Head into your session list, or select your most recent session from the dashboard. Then select any lap from that session.
  3. You will see a list of every sector or corner sequence from the track you were at, with a delta time next to it. By default, this delta time is compared to our Pro Esports driver’s reference lap. However, you can compare any lap by any driver and this will update to reflect your performance against that specific driver.
  4. Select any of the corners from this list.
  5. You will then see our AI Coaching Insights appear to the right of the track map. This section will highlight the key areas of improvement with specific notes on how to potentially improve.
  6. Select any other corner sequence to view more coaching notes for different parts of the lap.
  7. Selecting any corner sequence will also move the track map to that corner, as well as zooming all telemetry charts so you can quickly review all of your telemetry.

What the AI coaching notes mean

Our coaching notes are designed to analyse your speed through any corner using some key metrics. As you select different corners, you’ll see different points of interest and improvement highlighted.

Braking phase

During the braking phase, various inputs are measured. These can include your braking distance to the apex, your maximum braking pressure and length that you hold the brake pedal, as well as your trail braking technique.

Apex phase

As you lift off the brake pedal, various inputs are being measured such as your steering input, speed that you apply the steering, your turn-in point and minimum corner speed.

Exit phase

As you exit the corner, you will see coaching notes that review your throttle application speed, exit speed, ERS usage and more.

Good, notable, critical

Each coaching notes will receive a score which can be quickly identified by the coloured circle next to the note.

  • Green: These are areas where you are performing well and therefor labelled good.
  • Orange: These are areas where notable improvement could be made.
  • Red: Red areas are critical areas where you are losing the most time.
