Yas Marina is the season finale circuit in F1 26, and it’s a track that exposes any weaknesses in your car setup immediately. The slow chicanes demand strong traction and braking stability, while the long straights punish setups that carry too much drag. Getting that balance right is what separates competitive lap times from frustrating ones.

Turn 1 is a medium-speed left-hander. Brake late but smoothly, clip the inside kerb without cutting it too much, and stay wide on exit to set up Turn 2.
Turns 2 and 3 are a high-speed right-left combination. Keep the throttle planted and use all the track. A well-balanced car here builds momentum going into the rest of the sector.
Turn 5 is a heavy braking zone. Brake just after the 100m board, drop to second gear, and rotate the car early. Be careful on the throttle to avoid rear slip.
Key tip: Prioritise a clean exit here to maximise speed into the first DRS straight.
The Turn 6 to 7 chicane requires a hard brake on entry. Do not over-attack the kerbs or you will destabilise the car. Short-shift to third gear on exit to manage wheelspin.
The back straight is one of the best overtaking spots on the circuit. Minimal drag in your setup is essential to stay competitive here.
Turn 9 is a significant braking point. Brake in a straight line, avoid locking up, and hug the inside kerb.
Key tip: This sector is all about top-end speed and braking stability.
Turns 10, 11, and 12 are a sequence of medium-speed corners where a planted rear is key. Smooth inputs will help carry momentum through the sequence.
Turns 13 and 14 are a slow chicane. Hug the kerbs tightly but avoid cutting, and stay patient on the throttle.
Turns 15 and 16 are the final sweeping corners onto the pit straight. Use all the exit kerb and get on the power early.
Key tip: Rear tyre wear can spike here late in the race, so manage traction carefully throughout the stint.
To be fast at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in F1 26, your car setup needs to balance straight-line speed with cornering stability across a wide range of corner types. Here is our recommended setup direction for Yas Marina.

Hard to Medium or Medium to Hard is the preferred race strategy for Abu Dhabi in the F1 2026 Season Pack, thanks to the moderate to high tyre wear the circuit produces.
Safety cars are common at Yas Marina, particularly late in the race. A Hard to Medium strategy gives you the flexibility to capitalise on a late safety car and gain positions through the pit window without losing significant time.
Overtaking is easiest into Turns 6 and 9, so plan your ERS deployment with those zones in mind. There is a double DRS zone through this section, which means overtaking into Turn 6 can leave you vulnerable to an immediate counter-move into Turn 9. Committing into Turn 9 is usually the better and more rewarding option.
Run a low to medium downforce configuration at Yas Marina. The circuit’s long DRS straights punish high-drag setups heavily, but you still need enough downforce to stay stable through the faster sweeping corners in Sectors 1 and 3. Finding that middle ground is the key to a fast and consistent lap.
The most common mistake through the Turn 6 and 7 chicane is over-attacking the kerbs in an attempt to maintain speed. This unsettles the car and costs you more time on exit than you gained on entry. Brake slightly earlier, keep the car flat through the chicane, and focus on getting a clean exit onto the back straight where the real time gain is.
