Instead, you need car setups built specifically for F1 26.

F1 26 has come in the form of a premium DLC add on to the base F1 25 game, named the F1 2026 Season Pack. This was so EA Sports and Codemasters could focus on revamping the next F1 game (F1 27), with all new handling, physics and more.
The F1 2026 Season DLC did bring reworked handling to the game due to the 2026 Formula 1 cars being different to those that were raced last year. This means F1 26 does require all new car setups to put in the fastest lap times.
Due to the new regulations in 2026, the cars in the F1 2026 season update do behave differently compared to the F1 25 cars. This means to extract maximum performance, updated 2026 car setups are required, and we don’t really recommend using the setups from last year with an F1 26 car.
The new 2026 F1 cars have much less downforce and a heavy reliance on electrical power. This makes them more difficult to control through corners, with more energy and ERS management required throughout a lap and a race.

You absolutely can upload your own car setups! Other racers can then use your setup, rate it and provide feedback. To upload your own setup, head over to our setup upload page. There you will find an easy to complete setup form to fill out, sharing each aspect of your car setup, along with the weather conditions used to create it, and the car you used.
Once published, your setup will be immediately visible on our website, and other sim racers will be able to use your setup in F1 26. You will be notified when someone leaves feedback or a comment, allowing you to respond and discuss your setup further.

Below is a short summary of the basics of a good F1 26 car setup. These new cars are very different to the older 2025 cars, with less overall downforce, shorter dimensions and much more electrical power.
To get the most out of them in the 2026 Season Pack, your car setup will generally run higher front and rear wings compared to F1 25. There should be a large wing gap to avoid too much understeer.
With the differential and suspension, you can be very aggressive. Running close to 100% on throttle differential helps with drive and rotation, and the suspension can be set up very stiff to further aid cornering rotation.
Unlike the 2025 cars, in F1 26, your setup can include a lot of rake. This will further aids rotation into corners, minimising understeer and helping the car change direction more quickly.
Our free F1 26 setups are designed to be an improvement over the baseline presets included in the game. They are better optimised to each track, allowing you to lap faster and more consistently.
Our pro setups are created by the fastest sim racers, and are designed for ultimate pace. These are ideal if you are outperforming the free setups, or racing competitively in a league or against the AI at a high AI difficulty setting.

Each of our F1 26 setups have a tag which lets you know which game mode they were created in. You will see if they are a race, qualifying or time trial setup.
We wouldn’t recommend it. The 2026 Formula 1 cars handle differently to the 25 cars, due to the change in regulation. This means new setups are required to extract the best performance from them. I’d highly recommend using our dedicated F1 2026 Season Pack setups for the 26 cars.
Rather than releasing a brand new F1 26 game, EA Sports created the F1 2026 Season Pack. This is a premium DLC which adds the entire 2026 Formula 1 season to the F1 25 game. You do need the F1 25 game to play it. It adds all 2026 F1 teams and tracks including the new Madrid circuit. It also changes the gameplay to include the 2026 regulations and rules such as active aero and Boost mode.
Yes, our F1 26 setups are designed to work on both Xbox and PlayStation consoles, as well as PC. We always show which platform the setup was created on. However, the F1 26 game is the same on all platforms, so all of our setups work across all consoles and platforms.
The best F1 26 setup leans towards higher downforce in the 2026 Season Pack. The new straight line mode allows us to run higher wing angles. Also, a larg wing gap is preferrable as the 2026 cars do have a tendency to understeer. So increasing the gap between front and rear wings helps this. Also, a stiff suspension and soft anti-roll bar setup is ideal for F1 26.
F1 26 setups are very different to last years F1 25 setups. Despite the 2026 Season Pack using the F1 25 base game, it has changed a lot with how the cars handle. This year, higher aerodynamics and stiffer suspension setups are much more common due to the 2026 Formula 1 regulation changes.
Each setup shows whether it was created with a controller or racing wheel. Despite this, all setups will work with a controller, and may just require a little tweaking to be truly optimised.
