Track Guide
F1 24 Miami International Autodrome Track Guide
Miami is a fairly new track to Formula 1, and its inclusion in F1 24 was the third time it has appeared in an F1 game. It is a specifically designed street circuit with a semi-permanent layout that runs around the Miami Dolphins stadium.
Like many street circuits, Miami features long straights. However, it does away with typical 90-degree corners that are commonplace at street tracks such as Baku and Singapore.
Instead, Miami is much more flowing, with fast corners that lead into one another. This layout is much more similar to Jeddah, Silverstone and Suzuka. These corners test your car’s balance whilst simultaneously putting a lot of load through the front tyres.
What makes the perfect F1 24 Miami car setup?
Miami emphasizes the rear of the car’s aerodynamics more. While most tracks on the Formula 1 calendar test the front of the car, Miami also tests the rear, leading to a much more rear-focused aerodynamic setup.
I recommend setting the aerodynamic setup to be pretty even between front and rear rather than a large offset common in F1 24. This ensures that the rear of your car will remain planted through the fast sweeping turns.
The faster corners can cause the rear of the car to become unstable, and if you do not set up your car with enough rear downforce, you can lose control mid-corner. A higher rear aerodynamic car setup can prevent this.
We can set up the transmission to be higher than at some tracks due to the lack of heavy traction zones. Only turns 16 and 17 really test your car’s rear traction extensively, which makes the Miami circuit a much more front-limited circuit.
How can I stop the front tyres from overheating?
Front tyre wear and temperature gain are among the biggest issues around Miami in F1 24. The track layout relies heavily on fast corners, which put a prolonged strain on the two front tyres. Constantly driving through fast corners can overheat the tyres, leading to faster tyre wear.
The best option for reducing tyre wear around Miami in F1 24 is to reduce the front tyre pressures. Miami is one of the rare occasions where I would recommend lower front tyre pressures compared to rear pressures. This will help lower the temperature of your tyres throughout a race.
Recommended Miami race strategy in F1 24
Due to the Miami circuit’s many fast and flowing corners, front tyre wear can become a problem during an F1 24 race. You will likely require a two-stop race strategy to make the tyres last, especially if you are competing in a full race, either online or offline.
Using the hard and medium tyres is the best option as the soft tyres don’t last overly long when racing other cars around this fast track. I would recommend starting the race on medium tyres before pitting for either hard or medium tyres, followed by a final stint on whichever tyre compound you haven’t used. Remember that you need to use at least two different tyre compounds during a race in F1 24.
Is Miami a tough track on tyre wear?
The Miami International Autodrome will stress the front tyres during a race in F1 24. The long and fast corners will make your front tyres wear out faster than the rear tyres. You do have to manage this during a race, and can do so by lowering your tyre pressures.
What aerodynamic setup is best for Miami?
A very balanced front-to-rear aero setup is preferable due to the heavy reliance on rear stability in fast corners. You do need to account for the long straight, which limits the amount of downforce you can add to your car’s setup.
