Track Guide
F1 24 Silverstone Circuit Track Guide
Silverstone is a classic circuit that has been a staple of the Formula 1 calendar since it was added in 1950. Situated in an old airfield, the 5.8km track is incredibly fast, with one of the highest average speeds of any track on the calendar.
There are a good number of straights that present opportunities for overtaking, making the British Grand Prix incredibly fun to spectate.
In F1 24, Silverstone is equally fun to drive, thanks to the fast corners and flowing sections. The sequence between turns 11 and 14, otherwise known as Maggotts, Becketts and Chapel, is one of the fastest corner sequences on the whole Formula 1 calendar, and one of the most enjoyable to drive as well.
There are some slower corners, namely the final chicane and the in-field section comprising turns 3 and 4. These corners all require good traction at the rear of the car to avoid wheel spin under acceleration.
Is Silverstone a high or low downforce track?
Silverstone is an incredibly fast circuit which would lead us to recommend lowering the aerodynamic setup. However, there are some slower corners as well as corners that are heavily dependent on a good amount of downforce.
I would recommend opting for a very balanced aerodynamic setup in F1 24. This will lead to the fastest lap times. You can tweak the car setup to have less downforce for races if you think that you will need to challenge other cars for overtakes.
In previous Formula 1 games, the AI cars have had a tendency to be extremely quick on straights. This means that during a race, I’d often recommend lowering the aerodynamic setup slightly away from perfect.
This will result in lap times that aren’t ultimately as fast as they could be but will make you more competitive along the straights, which is important around Silverstone.
Silverstone race strategy for F1 24
Silverstone is a track that should, on paper, be incredibly punishing on tyre wear due to the high speeds and flowing corners. However, a combination of the track surface and ambient temperature often means that tyre wear isn’t too much of an issue for Silverstone.
When competing in the full race distance of Silverstone in F1 24, you can opt to pit once or twice. A one-stop strategy often involves a medium and hard tyre combination. If you were to choose an aggressive race strategy, you could start the race on soft tyres, then pit twice for a new set of soft tyres and a set of hard tyres.
I recommend over-fueling your car by a few laps, as Silverstone is a circuit where overtaking is a real possibility. Having the extra fuel on board will let you use more power throughout the race when you need to overtake or defend.

What is the best way to be quick around Silverstone in F1 24?
Opting for a car setup that combines enough downforce for the medium-speed corners and enough top speed will result in the fastest lap times around Silverstone. In F1 24, we have a few additional setup options regarding the transmission and ERS delivery that can be used throughout a lap to extract the most performance from your car.
Is Silverstone front or rear limited?
Silverstone is a front-limited track in F1 24. This is because the fast corners put more load on the front tyres as the car leans. This will wear your front tyres faster than the rear tyres during a race around Silverstone.
