The MOZA KS steering wheel was already a fantastic budget-friendly formula/GT wheel thanks to its clean design and high number of inputs. Well, MOZA Racing wasn’t entirely finished with the KS, and now we have the new KS Pro wheel.

MOZA’s KS Pro wheel is basically an entirely new steering wheel, with very little in common with the original KS wheel. Yes, it shares the same 300mm size, and a lot of the same construction materials. However, that is about it.

This new sim racing steering wheel completely overhauls the design. There are new inputs across the front and rear of the wheel, and a brand new integrated display.

Do these improvements justify the £100/$100 increase in price? I’ve been sent the new KS Pro wheel to review, so lets dive in and find out.

What is the MOZA KS Pro wheel, and why do we need it?

Despite there being an almost endless selection of sim racing wheels to choose from in 2026. In the world of budget to mid-range formula wheels, there is a distinct lack of options.

Most sim racing hardware brands have just a single formula-style wheel sitting under the £/$500 mark. And generally, these wheels lack a proper display, and some feel either dated or a little bit underwhelming.

MOZA Racing fell into this category for the longest time. The KS wheel was their budget formula wheel, with options such as the GS GT wheel feeling dated, and the FSR wheel falling into a premium price point.

The KS Pro looks to fix this issue. Coming in at just £319, this wheel offers a modern take on a formula wheel, with upgraded inputs compared to the older KS wheel, and a in-built 2.99 inch display. This is still a budget steering wheel at heart, with a composite construction and plastic inputs. However, the redesign, upgraded RGB lighting and display make this feel much more premium than it has any right to at this price.

Price of the MOZA KS Pro

Depending where you are located, the KS Pro price varies, but always remains in the budget to mid-range category. This wheel comes in at just £319 in the UK with tax included, or $329 in the United States.

The design and build quality

For that price, you are getting a really well designed steering wheel, with a tonne of inputs, with the main compromises being the materials used in its construction. At this price range, it is no surprise to see plastic inputs, a composite chassis and TPE rubber grips.

None of these elements really detract too much from the experience. I rather like the feel of the lightweight and soft touch carbon fibre composite body. The rubber handgrips are commonplace across many steering wheels, and are a better choice than suede or Alcantara as they wear better over time.

There are even some higher quality material choices in use as well. All four of the thumb encoders are constructed from metal. The shifter paddles are entirely constructed from forged carbon fibre and use magnetic hall sensors. And the quick release is all aluminium.

Improvements & new design features

Due to its name sharing the KS branding from the original KS wheel, I expected the design to resemble that original wheel. However, MOZA decided to completely revamp the layout, with almost no design cues being shared between the two wheels.

What is different between the KS and KS Pro wheels?

This new wheel has a range of additional features compared to the KS wheel. Below is a comparison.

The additional inputs are really where the KS Pro shines over the original wheel. There are ten standard RGB backlit push buttons on the front. But now there are also two additional push buttons on the rear. These are very well positioned and easy to activate, unlike the CS Pro wheel, where the rear push buttons are much trickier to reach.

The front-facing encoders on this wheel are a notable upgrade. Each encoder features individually adjustable RGB backlighting for active and inactive segments, all configurable through MOZA’s Pit House software, and this is a design that I really like.

The thumb encoders are equally impressive, boasting a gold finish and durable metal construction. They rotate smoothly, offering just the right amount of resistance without awkwardly feeling stiff.

Turning the wheel over reveals four paddle shifters that utilize magnetic hall sensors. They provide consistent resistance and operate quietly, thanks to some of the best MOZA noise dampening to date. The shifters offer limited positional adjustment but are already well-placed.

A key improvement over the original KS wheel is the increased distance of the shifters from the wheel body, addressing the previous issue of sometimes hitting my thumb while shifting. However, the smaller size, means we don’t have room for the two additional modular paddles that the MOZA CS Pro steering wheel boasts.

The rear of the wheel features the familiar MOZA QR all-aluminium quick release. MOZA has refined the design slightly by adding a lip around the edge, making it easier to detach from a wheel base.

Connectivity

Talking about wheel bases, the connectivity of the KS Pro wheel is about as good as it gets. The rear of the wheel features a direct data port connection, meaning this wheel can be used with any wheel base from any brand. MOZA offers a third-party quick release adapter, making it really easy to mount this steering wheel to a universal hub. I have been using the KS Pro with my Simucube 2 Pro wheel base to prove this.

Display

One of the biggest improvements to the KS Pro wheel is the addition of a display. This is a 2.99 inch screen, identical to the display found on the CS Pro. It is surrounded by rev and flag lights, again, much like the CS Pro wheel.

And also like that display, you can fully customise the layout of the display, with multiple dash presets to choose from. Those with a keen eye for design can also jump in and edit the layout using MOZA’s own dash editor software.

Final Thoughts

I always try to be objective with any sim racing product I’m reviewing, but sometimes I have to take a minute to really offer praise where its due.

The MOZA KS Pro wheel is a fantastic iteration and improvement over the original KS wheel. The new design language is modern and fresh, with really well thought out input placement and design.

The additional screen really allows MOZA to step above other brands such as Fanatec and SIMAGIC at this price point. And having all of this functionality for just £319 is incredibly impressive.

Frequently asked questions

Is the MOZA KS Pro wheel compatible with other brand’s wheel bases?

Yes. The MOZA KS Pro features a data port connection, meaning it can be used with third-party wheel bases. You will need a MOZA Universal Hub to achieve this.

Is this a better wheel than the original MOZA KS wheel?

The KS Pro wheel outperforms the original KS wheel in almost every way. The design is an improvement, and there are many upgrades and new inputs throughout. The price has increased by £100/$100, but this is well justified thanks to the display and other upgrades.
