Project Motor Racing has a range of driver assists ranging from aids designed to make driving easier to manage such as automatic clutch and transmission. They also have assists that help you keep better control over the car your driving. These include the classic traction control assists and ABS.

There are some more unique assists also such as trailing throttle and down shift protection. These allow the game to handle some more advanced techniques for you.

Project Motor Racing assists settings

Below is an overview of what each assist in Project Motor Racing does.

  • Racing Line
The racing line assist will let you see the ideal racing line while driving. It will project a racing line in red and green onto the track for you to follow.
  • Traction Control
Traction control is designed to make it easier to accelerate without spinning your rear wheels. Some cars have this in Project Motor Racing, such as the GT3 cars, while others do not have it. However, you can enable it for every car if you want an easier driving experience.
  • ABS
The ABS will prevent you from locking the brakes when braking too hard. Much like traction control, you can enable this only for cars that do have it in real life, such as the GT cars, or enable if for every car.
  • Auto Clutch
The automatic clutch will pull the clutch in so you don’t have to. This is ideal for making standing starts easier, as well as preventing the need to press the clutch pedal when changing gear in any of the manual cars in Project Motor Racing.
  • Auto Cut
The automatic cut assist will cut the throttle during moments when the car would over rev, specifically during gear shifts in some cars.
  • Auto Blip
Auto blip will automatically blip the throttle on downshifts, imitating a traditional heel-and-toe technique.
  • Down Shift Protection
Down shift protection prevents you from downshifting too fast. It will block downshifts if you would cause damage to the gearbox.
  • Transmission
You can choose to set the transmission to automatic or manual, depending on whether you wish to change gears yourself or let the game handle gear changes.
  • Pit Limiter
The pit limiter assist will help automatically enable and disable the pit limiter as you enter and exit the pitlane.
  • Pit Box Indicator
The pit box indicator highlights where your specific pit box is, making it easier to find while pitting.

FAQs

Which assists should I enable in Project Motor Racing as a beginner?

Setting a lot of the assists to “Force on” will help you keep the car pointing in the right direction. This is useful for beginners to the game. I’d really recommend using the racing line assist and setting the transmission to automatic to get a headstart. Then disable these assists as you feel more comfortable.
