As with most sim racing titles, choosing the right assists can be the difference between enjoying your time on track, and having frustrating spins at every corner. Making sure you enjoy the races in Project Motor Racing by choosing the right assists will elevate your fun, and help you keep the car facing the right direction.
In this guide, I’m going to run through all assists in Project Motor Racing. I’ll also look at which assists we’d recommend enabling and disabling, as well as how to adjust your assists at any point.
If you are looking for the best Project Motor Racing racing wheel settings, check out our recommended FFB guide for all wheels.
Project Motor Racing has a range of driver assists ranging from aids designed to make driving easier to manage such as automatic clutch and transmission. They also have assists that help you keep better control over the car your driving. These include the classic traction control assists and ABS.
--- Article continues below --- Shop Sim Racing DiscountsThere are some more unique assists also such as trailing throttle and down shift protection. These allow the game to handle some more advanced techniques for you.

Below is an overview of what each assist in Project Motor Racing does.
Below are our recommended settings for each assist in Project Motor Racing. Setting most of the settings to authentic will give you the very best and most immersive experience when on track.
If you are struggling with controlling the car while on track, you can enable a few settings, which I’ve highlighted below in the beginner recommendation column. Forcing some of the assists to always on will help you manage various aspects of the on track action.
| Assist Setting | Recommendation | Beginners |
|---|---|---|
| Racing Line | Off | On |
| Traction Control | Authentic | Authentic |
| ABS | Authentic | Authentic |
| Auto Clutch | Authentic | Force On |
| Auto Cut | Authentic | Force On |
| Auto Blip | Authentic | Force On |
| Trailing Throttle | Authentic | Force On |
| Down Shift Protection | Authentic | Force On |
| Transmission | Manual | Automatic |
| Pit Limiter | Authentic | Force On |
| Pit Box Indicator | Off | On |

Setting a lot of the assists to “Force on” will help you keep the car pointing in the right direction. This is useful for beginners to the game. I’d really recommend using the racing line assist and setting the transmission to automatic to get a headstart. Then disable these assists as you feel more comfortable.
