A few months ago, sim racing manufacturer Grid Engineering announced its partnership licensing deal with Porsche. This licensing deal allows Grid to produce official Porsche products for sim racers.
The newest steering wheel, the Porsche 911 RSR Steering wheel is an absolute beauty and is a product that is as close to the real thing as you can get.
Before I delve too deep into this stunning new steering wheel, I first wanted to touch on Grid Engineering. This is a company that not many sim racers have heard of, and that is because they are a relatively new company to the sim racing space.
Grid Engineering is originally a Canadian sim racing company, which in 2022 got purchased by Sim-Labs. Sim-Labs are most well known for their high-end sim racing cockpits and racing seats.
Now, they’re lending their hand to Grid Engineering to produce some of the most realistic high-end sim racing equipment on the market today.
Delving deeper into the new Porsche 911 wheel, you’ll see one of the best-looking steering wheels in all of sim racing. It features the highest quality materials, combined with the design of the steering wheel from the official Porsche 911 RSR racing car.
This steering wheel can be used with a variety of sim racing wheel bases, including the most high-end direct drive wheel bases. And you would certainly want to pair this stunning wheel with a wheel base that is just as impressive.
On the front of the wheel you will immediately notice the large 5″ LCD screen. This screen is an extremely bright 300-lumen backlit panel, which will display live telemetry while racing. You can view a replica screen layout as if you were driving a real GT3 car.
There are also a total of 80 programmable LEDs throughout the steering wheel. You can completely customise every LED on the wheel, from the rev lights, through to the button colours.
And each rotary encoder and button has a total of 4 LEDs which can be individually customised. These can produce a variety of effects such as flashing or fading to provide confirmation of a button press.
The wheel itself utilises the highest quality materials in its construction. The entirety of the steering wheel is constructed from aluminium providing the most premium experience during use.
This choice in material allows the wheel to closely replicate the original on which it is based. It also saves weight and provides rigidity and durability during use.
On the reverse of the wheel, you will find a set of high-quality shifter paddles along with a set of dual-clutch paddles. These work in tandem to ensure each shift is positive, and the dual clutches allow you to perfect your launch off the line.
Here is the part that may hurt, so you might want to sit down before reading this.
This sim racing wheel costs a whopping €2,499.
This high price tag reflects the extremely high quality of the product itself and makes it one of the most expensive sim racing wheels you can purchase.
If you fancy owning this Porsche sim racing wheel, but don’t fancy paying the rather expensive price tag. You can enter for a chance to win it.
Sim-Lab are running a promotion as part of their 2022 Black Friday deals, where you can win this stunning sim racing wheel.
To be entered into this prize draw, you have to purchase €500 of products from Sim-Lab over Black Friday. Of course, this isn’t ideal if you weren’t planning on buying anything over Black Friday.
But, if you are planning a Sim-Lab purchase before the end of November, this promotion could net you a free Porsche 911 RSR steering wheel!

Grid’s new partnership with Porsche is a 3-year licensing agreement, in which Grid will produce a variety of official Porsche replica sim racing products. The first of those products is the Porsche 911 RSR Sim Racing Steering Wheel. And as with all official Porsche sim racing wheels, this wheel carries the official Porsche branding.
Brandon Cawker, VP Product Development at GRID said: “We are extremely excited to have the opportunity to work alongside Porsche on new and exciting sim racing products. We will be focusing our efforts on providing top tier Porsche approved & licensed replica products for sim racers who want their sim experience as close to the real world as possible.”
