Logitech has announced its first official quick release adapter, and this allows you to easily swap your steering wheel with other Logitech wheels, or use third-party wheel rims with your Logitech G Pro Racing Wheel.
Most sim racing brands have a quick release adapter as part of their lineup, and this really helps to open up compatibility. Brands including Fanatec, Asetek, Simucube and MOZA all now have quick release adapters, and Logitech is the latest brand to introduce an official QR adapter.
I’m going to show you how to use the Logitech G RS QR adapter with any steering wheel.
The Logitech G RS QR Adapter may not have the catchiest name, but it adds a lot of functionality to Logitech’s sim racing lineup. The most important part of this quick-release adapter is that it officially allows the use of third-party steering wheels with the Logitech Pro Racing Wheel for the first time.
This quick release includes the same quick-release system found on the Pro Racing Wheel with an easy-to-activate pull system, much like a Fanatec wheel or a real-world car.
On the wheel side of the adapter, there are 70mm and 50.8mm PCD mounting patterns that allow most steering wheels to be mounted. Almost all sim racing wheels and real-world wheel rims use either a 70 or 50.8mm PCD, making this QR Adapter widely compatible.
If you buy one of the new RS Wheel Hubs, you won’t need to purchase the Logitech RS QR Adapter, as these include the quick release. Instead, these adapters are ideal if you have multiple steering wheels that you wish to use with your Logitech racing wheel.
The Logitech G RS QR Adapter is constructed from high-quality aluminium and finished in blue to match the Logitech branding and the accents on the Pro Racing Wheel. This design makes the QR adapter look and feel very high-quality and relatively light.
It is important to note that the 50.8mm mounting pattern is only available using front mounting. If you are looking to mount via the rear, you only have access to the 70mm PCD.
The great news is that the Logitech RS QR Adapter isn’t as expensive as many other quick releases from other brands. It costs just $59.99 / €69.99, making it relatively affordable.

With the introduction of the RS Quick Release adapter, you can use steering wheels from a range of third-party brands. You can also use any of the wheel rims that Logitech announced alongside the QR adapter.
Logitech announced four new wheel rims that can all be mounted directly to the RS QR Adapter. These wheel rims were designed to be used with the new RS Wheel Hub which includes buttons, shifters and rev lights. However, you can also mount them directly to the RS QR adapter if you wish.
Below are all of the new Logitech G RS wheels that have been launched and that are compatible with the RS QR Adapter.

Unfortunately, some steering wheels, such as those from Fanatec, Thrustmaster, and Asetek, don’t include ways of transferring data without using a wheel base from the brand. This means elements such as shifters and buttons will not work if connected to a Logitech racing wheel.
You can still technically connect any of these wheels to a Logitech wheel with the RS QR Adapter. However, you won’t be able to use all of the wheel’s functionality.
If you wish to use a third-party steering wheel with the Logitech G Pro Racing Wheel, the QR adapter is the perfect solution. Many brands offer ways to use their steering wheels with other wheel bases.
Many Cube Controls and Simucube wheels include wireless data transfer, and wheels from MOZA Racing include a dedicated data port that can send data even when not using a MOZA wheel base.
Some of the best steering wheels that are compatible with the Logitech G RS QR Adapter are;
