The Gran Turismo 7 launch is coming soon, and it is one of the most anticipated Gran Turismo games in a long time. GT7 features a whole host of returning and new features. Check out the complete GT7 track list or car list.

As you prepare for the Gran Turismo 7 release, you may be looking to pick up a new compatible racing wheel. Or you may want to ensure your current racing wheel will be compatible with GT7 at launch.

Below is the current Gran Turismo 7 steering wheel compatibility list. This list hasn’t been confirmed by Polyphony Digital (the developers of GT7) yet, but there are some assumptions we can make based on previous games and info that we know so far.

Gran Turismo 7 Steering Wheel Compatibility List

The list below includes every racing wheel that we know will be compatible with Gran Turismo 7. We’ll also include racing wheels that haven’t been officially confirmed as compatible but almost certainly will be.

Good news for those with a PlayStation 4 racing wheel. When Sony announced the PlayStation 5, they also confirmed that all racing wheels that worked with PS4 will work on PS5 consoles. It is always up to the game developer on which wheels they officially support, but chances are if you have a PS4 racing wheel, it should work with Gran Turismo 7.

GT7 compatible Fanatec racing wheels

  • Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Pro (Designed alongside Gran Turismo 7 – Confirmed GT7 compatible)
  • Fanatec Podium F1 (PlayStation 4/5 compatible, not confirmed for GT7)

The Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Pro racing wheel was developed alongside Polyphony Digital. This ensures that this racing wheel will be the first direct drive compatible racing wheel for Gran Turismo 7. The wheel carries the GT logo and is confirmed to be GT7 compatible.

The Fanatec Podium F1 is a much more powerful direct drive wheel designed for the PS4. It carries the official Formula 1 logo and does currently work with PlayStation 5 games. This wheel should be compatible with Gran Turismo 7 but hasn’t been confirmed.

Both of these are among the best racing wheels for PS5.

GT7 compatible Thrustmaster racing wheels

  • Thrustmaster T-GT II (Officially Gran Turismo licensed, not confirmed for GT7)
  • Thrustmaster T248 (PS4/PS5/PC racing wheel, not confirmed for GT7)
  • Thrustmaster T500RS (Is GT Sport compatible, not confirmed for GT7)
  • Thrustmaster T300RS (Is GT Sport compatible, not confirmed for GT7)
  • Thrustmaster T300RS GT Edition (Officially Gran Turismo licensed, not confirmed for GT7)
  • Thrustmaster T150 Force Feedback (Is GT Sport compatible, not confirmed for GT7)
  • Thrustmaster T80 Racing Wheel (Is GT Sport compatible, not confirmed for GT7)

A few Thrustmaster racing wheels carry the Gran Turismo branding, including the T-GT II and the T300RS GT Edition. While Polyphony Digital and Thrustmaster have confirmed that any of their racing wheels are currently Gran Turismo 7 compatible, we can assume that these two racing wheels will be as they both carry the Gran Turismo branding.

The most recent Thrustmaster T248 racing wheel was designed specifically to be PS4 and PS5 compatible, so should work flawlessly with Gran Turismo 7.

Sony confirmed that all PS4 compatible racing wheels will be compatible with PS5 games. This means that the other wheels listed above should work well with both the PS4 and PS5 versions of Gran Turismo 7, but this hasn’t been officially confirmed yet.

GT7 compatible Logitech racing wheels

  • Logitech Driving Force G29 (Is GT Sport compatible, not confirmed for GT7)
  • Logitech Driving Force G923 (Is GT Sport compatible, not confirmed for GT7)

Logitech currently only sell one racing wheel, the G923. This racing wheel is currently PS4 and PS5 compatible and works well with GT Sport. This should mean that it is completely compatible with Gran Turismo 7.

The older Logitech G29 also works well with PS4 and PS5 games including GT Sport, so should also be GT7 compatible.

Can you use a steering wheel on Gran Turismo 7?

Gran Turismo 7 will play best when using a racing wheel. Steering wheels add a level of immersion that a controller cannot match. They provide realistic force feedback allowing you to feel the car and track that you’re racing on.

Gran Turismo 7 will support many steering wheels at launch including wheels from brands such as Fanatec, Thrustmaster and Logitech. Check the GT7 compatibility list above to see which racing wheels should be compatible with GT7 at launch.
