As you prepare for the Gran Turismo 7 release, you may be looking to pick up a new compatible racing wheel. Or you may want to ensure your current racing wheel will be compatible with GT7 at launch.
Below is the current Gran Turismo 7 steering wheel compatibility list. This list hasn’t been confirmed by Polyphony Digital (the developers of GT7) yet, but there are some assumptions we can make based on previous games and info that we know so far.
The list below includes every racing wheel that we know will be compatible with Gran Turismo 7. We’ll also include racing wheels that haven’t been officially confirmed as compatible but almost certainly will be.
Good news for those with a PlayStation 4 racing wheel. When Sony announced the PlayStation 5, they also confirmed that all racing wheels that worked with PS4 will work on PS5 consoles. It is always up to the game developer on which wheels they officially support, but chances are if you have a PS4 racing wheel, it should work with Gran Turismo 7.
The Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Pro racing wheel was developed alongside Polyphony Digital. This ensures that this racing wheel will be the first direct drive compatible racing wheel for Gran Turismo 7. The wheel carries the GT logo and is confirmed to be GT7 compatible.
The Fanatec Podium F1 is a much more powerful direct drive wheel designed for the PS4. It carries the official Formula 1 logo and does currently work with PlayStation 5 games. This wheel should be compatible with Gran Turismo 7 but hasn’t been confirmed.
Both of these are among the best racing wheels for PS5.
A few Thrustmaster racing wheels carry the Gran Turismo branding, including the T-GT II and the T300RS GT Edition. While Polyphony Digital and Thrustmaster have confirmed that any of their racing wheels are currently Gran Turismo 7 compatible, we can assume that these two racing wheels will be as they both carry the Gran Turismo branding.
The most recent Thrustmaster T248 racing wheel was designed specifically to be PS4 and PS5 compatible, so should work flawlessly with Gran Turismo 7.
Sony confirmed that all PS4 compatible racing wheels will be compatible with PS5 games. This means that the other wheels listed above should work well with both the PS4 and PS5 versions of Gran Turismo 7, but this hasn’t been officially confirmed yet.
Logitech currently only sell one racing wheel, the G923. This racing wheel is currently PS4 and PS5 compatible and works well with GT Sport. This should mean that it is completely compatible with Gran Turismo 7.
The older Logitech G29 also works well with PS4 and PS5 games including GT Sport, so should also be GT7 compatible.
The GT7 racing wheel compatibility list above includes every wheel that will work with Gran Turismo 7. However, it doesn’t help you choose the best racing wheel.
