Forza Motorsport was one of the big racing titles of 2023 and presents an immersive racing experience across a range of disciplines. When racing Forza Motorsport, one of the big decisions you have to make is whether you race with a controller or a racing wheel.

If choosing to race Forza with a sim racing wheel, the first step is to ensure your racing wheel is compatible. Turn 10 has its official Forza Motorsport wheel compatibility list, which we’ve attached below. This list includes every sim racing wheel that is officially supported on both Xbox and PC.

Don’t worry too much if your racing wheel isn’t included below, as it doesn’t necessarily mean it won’t work with Forza Motorsport. Some wheels will still be compatible, but will just require manually setting up in the Forza wheel settings. This will require you to manually assign button layouts etc.

Forza Motorsport does support DirectInput API, which means you can still use a lot of racing wheels and peripherals that aren’t officially supported on this list.

Complete Forza Motorsport steering wheel compatibility list

Below are two lists. The first is the official Forza Motorsport racing wheel compatibility on Xbox. All of the racing wheels on this first list will work on Xbox consoles with Forza right away.

The second list is an expanded list of all racing wheels that are compatible with Forza Motorsport on PC. There are more racing wheels on this list due to much more compatibility.

Xbox racing wheel compatibility list

All of the racing wheels below are compatible with Forza Motorsport on Xbox consoles.

PC racing wheel compatibility list

All of the racing wheels below are officially supported in Forza Motorsport on PC.

Can I use a racing wheel that isn’t on these lists?

While all of the racing wheels above are officially supported by Forza Motorsport, it doesn’t mean that all other racing wheels not featured on these lists are not compatible.

Forza Motorsport supports DirectInput API which allows for various controllers and racing wheels to be used to control games. This function will allow racing wheels that aren’t directly supported to still be used with Forza Motorsport.

Brands such as Simucube and Asetek aren’t officially supported. However, we have tested all Asetek wheels and they work with Forza on PC. You just have to manually set them up within the Forza Motorsport settings as they won’t come with a preset configuration like the wheels above do.

Forza Motorsport compatible Fanatec racing wheels

Fanatec offers wide support of Forza Motorsport across their racing wheel lineup, including older wheels such as the CSL Elite. The official compatibility list doesn’t include the GT DD Pro, ClubSport DD or DD+, however when paired with an Xbox-compatible steering wheel, these wheels can be used with Forza Motorsport on Xbox consoles.

Forza Motorsport-compatible Thrustmaster racing wheels

Thrustmaster has one of the largest ranges of racing wheels that are compatible with Forza Motorsport on both PC and Xbox. Their range of sim racing products includes budget-friendly wheels such as the T248 and T128 up to more premium direct drive wheels such as the T818.

Forza Motorsport compatible MOZA Racing wheels

Not every MOZA Racing wheel is listed on the official Forza compatible wheels list. Only the R9 is officially supported, however, you can use any of the MOZA product range with Forza Motorsport. We have tested the R16 and had it working with Forza on PC, as well as the R12.

Forza Motorsport compatible Logitech racing wheels

Logitech is a fantastic choice when shopping for a Forza Motorsport racing wheel. They offer some of the very best affordable racing wheels in the G923 and G29. And they even offer a much more premium direct drive racing wheel, the Pro Racing Wheel.

All of Logitech’s racing wheels work with Forza Motorsport on PC. And their G923, G920 and Pro Racing Wheel are all compatible with Forza on Xbox consoles.
