Forza Motorsport is releasing on the 10th October, which at the time of writing is only a few days away. If you are looking forward to racing this new Forza on either Xbox or PC, now is the time to get your racing wheel ready to go.

The first step in making sure you are ready to play Forza Motorsport on day one with a wheel is to ensure your racing wheel is compatible with the new Forza game.

Turn 10 has released its official Forza Motorsport wheel compatibility list, which we’ve attached below. This list includes every wheel that is officially supported on both Xbox and PC.

Don’t worry too much if your racing wheel isn’t included below, as it doesn’t necessarily mean it won’t work with Forza Motorsport. Some wheels will still be compatible, but will just require manually setting up in the Forza wheel settings. This will require you to manually assign button layouts etc.

Forza Motorsport does support DirectInput API, which means you can still use a lot of racing wheels and peripherals that aren’t officially supported on this list.

Can I use a racing wheel that isn’t on these lists?

While all of the racing wheels above are officially supported by Forza Motorsport, it doesn’t mean that all wheels not featured on these lists are not compatible.

Forza Motorsport supports DirectInput API which allows for various controllers and racing wheels to be used to control games. This function will allow racing wheels that aren’t directly supported to still be used with Forza Motorsport.

Brands such as Simucube and Asetek aren’t officially supported. However, it is almost certain that these racing wheels will be able to be used with Forza Motorsport on PC. You will just have to manually set them up within the Forza Motorsport settings.
