This guide will let you know whether your existing Fanatec wheels will work with Xbox Series X.
The new console generation is here, bringing with it the PS5 and Xbox Series X. These new pieces of hardware bring with them updated technology, and updated compatibility.
These leaves many sim racers asking one question. Will my Fanatec wheel be Xbox Series X compatible? Many sim racers have invested hundreds, if not thousands on completing their perfect sim racing rig. This includes spending a lot of money on a console specific Fanatec wheel.
Thankfully, we know for sure that Fanatec wheels will work with Xbox Series X!
Fanatec have announced that their current lineup of Xbox compatible products will be future proof. This only extends to Xbox products as Fanatec currently don’t know if their products will work with the new PlayStation 5.
This has also been confirmed by Microsoft. The tech giant, and manufacturer of the Xbox consoles have said, “Your favorite games, including titles in Xbox Game Pass, benefit from steadier framerates, faster load times and improved resolution and visual fidelity – all with no developer work required. Your Xbox One gaming accessories also come forward with you.” This is a direct quote from Xbox head, Phil Spencer.
The native Fantec Xbox Series X compatibility only extends to their Xbox compatible wheels and wheel bases. This means that if you own a PS4 or PC compatible wheel, it wont work with the new Xbox console. That is unless you use our simple hack to make any Fanatec product Xbox compatible.
If you want to make any Fanatec steering wheel or wheel base work with Xbox One and Xbox Series X, you can pick up a ClubSport Universal Hub.
If you connect an ClubSport Universal Hub to almost any Fanatec wheel base or steering wheel, it will become Xbox compatible. This means it will work with your current Xbox One console, and the upcoming Xbox Series X.
