Danish sim racing brand Asetek has been building its ecosystem for the past few years, allowing them to offer a complete ecosystem of hardware at different price points.
To kick off 2025, Asetek has made a huge announcement today. CEO André Sloth Eriksen announced a brand new Asetek product lineup, named Initium, which will be a budget product range with Xbox console compatibility.
Additionally, Asetek also announced its first ever sim racing cockpit, which will be a part of the Initium product range. This is a budget to mid-range cockpit that offers the flexibility of a premium aluminium profile rig and the compatibility with their Invicita product range, at a much lower cost than traditional premium sim rigs.
Finally, there have been a range of new product announcements, including the T.H.O.R.P II pedals, a new dished wheel rim, and a change to both La Prima and Forte steering wheels and hubs moving forward.
Below is a complete list of all announcements from Asetek Sim Sports today. I’ll talk about each new announcement in more details below.

The biggest announcement from Asetek today is the introduction of its new product range, Initium, which means “to start.” It will be Asetek’s budget to mid-range product lineup, and all products will be compatible with Xbox consoles.
It will feature an entire ecosystem including racing wheels, pedals and more, all available at a cheaper price than the current La Prima lineup. The CEO André Sloth Eriksen stated that you will be able to buy a complete sim racing setup, including wheel base, steering wheel and pedals for under €/$1000.
The first product to be announced in this product range is the Initium sim rig. This is an adjustable metal-framed cockpit that allows for both GT and formula driving positions, depending on how it is configured.
Asetek designed this sim rig to support the Invicta product range. This means it can support up to 27Nm of peak torque from the premium direct drive Invicta wheelbase and the high pressure that can be applied to the Invicta pedals. It can be configured to include an integrated monitor mount, and an official Asetek racing seat is also available.
The cockpit is available for €/$399.99 excluding VAT, and will be available globally.
The Invicta pedals have been Asetek’s flagship sim racing pedal since their launch a few years ago. Today, they announced the second version of the Invicta pedals, featuring an upgraded T.H.O.R.P II brake cylinder.
This new cylinder allows for more pedal travel, around 30-40% longer, and much easier adjustability. It also includes upgrades that will be used in Asetek’s upcoming ABS hydraulic system.
Unfortunately, older pedals cannot be upgraded to the T.H.O.R.P II system. However, all Invicta pedals purchased from now on will feature this upgrade.
There is a new upgrade kit available for the Asetek La Prima wheel base. Currently, the peak torque available from the La Prima wheel base is 12Nm. The upgrade comes in the form of a new PSU, which simply connects to the rear of the wheel base. It will boost the peak torque up to 16Nm.
This upgrade is a stand-alone product and costs €/$199.99, excluding VAT. It is a fantastic option for those looking for more powerful force feedback from their La Prima wheel base but don’t want to spend a lot to upgrade to the Forte or Invicta wheels.
As well as the upgrade kit for the La Prima wheel base, Asetek is releasing a free firmware update for the La Prima steering wheel and wheel hub. This update will open up compatibility between the La Prima steering wheels and the additional paddle shifter spots on the rear of the wheel.
Previously, La Prima wheels could not be spec’d with dual clutch paddles or the additional top paddles. After this firmware upgrade, all La Prima wheels will be compatible with the additional paddles.
The popular Forte formula wheel and wheel hub have been upgrade moving forward to feature the same aluminium push buttons and encoders as the more premium Invicta wheel.
This upgrade vastly improves the wheel’s overall quality. The new metal buttons and encoders will come in an all-black appearance as standard. However, Asetek will offer different-coloured metal buttons and encoders, allowing you to customise your Forte wheel and hub.
From today on wards, Forte formula wheels will no longer include handles as standard. You will have the full choice to customise the handles, choosing between formula, LMP-style or XL hand grips.
The final announcement is for a new deep-dished steering wheel rim. This is ideal for rallying and drifting as it pushed the buttons further away from your hands as you rotate them around the wheel.
The new steering wheel is available for €/$134.99 excluding VAT. View the new dished steering wheel here.
