In 2024, MOZA Racing has one of the most robust sim racing lineups of any brand. All of its racing wheels utilise direct drive technology, which is often seen as responsible for producing the best force feedback. This means that whichever MOZA Racing wheel you choose to race F1 24 with, you will experience some of the best force feedback available.

MOZA has racing wheels across all budgets, including the Xbox-compatible R3 wheel, the budget-friendly R5, the incredible R12 and the more performance-focused R16 and F21 wheels. Each wheel base offers PC compatibility with F1 24, and there are also a variety of MOZA steering wheels that are compatible with each wheel base.

MOZA Racing Steering Wheel Comparison

In this guide, I’m going to look at our recommended force feedback settings for all MOZA Racing wheels in F1 24. I’ll show you our settings for each racing wheel, as each wheel will benefit from different settings due to performance differences across the MOZA lineup.

I’ll also look at our recommendations on what to change within the MOZA Pit House software to really tinker with how your force feedback feels.

Do I need to change my MOZA settings for F1 24?

When you load up F1 24 for the first time with a MOZA Racing wheel connected, things will work right away. You may need to configure F1 24 within the Pit House software, and I’ll touch on how to do that later in this guide. But once everything is working, you can hit the track and start racing.

MOZA Racing has done well to provide different preset configurations to help your racing wheel feel good within the new F1 24 game. However, there are some adjustments that I’d definitely recommend doing to really optimise your force feedback.

Making the adjustments I recommend below will improve the feeling you get from your racing wheel while on the track in F1 24. These settings may not be perfect for everyone’s preference, however, they can be used as a good starting point that allows you to further tinker and tailor the settings until they feel perfect.


Recommended MOZA R3 & R5 settings

The MOZA R3 and R5, are two budget-friendly racing wheels. The R3 is the only wheel that the Chinese sim racing brand sells that incorporates Xbox compatibility. Both wheels are compatible with F1 24 on PC, while the R3 also boasts Xbox compatibility.

These two wheels are more budget-focused, so they have less force feedback power available compared to some of MOZA’s other racing wheels. However, they both still use direct drive technology and are very good racing wheels at this price range.

Below is an overview of the best F1 24 settings for the R3 and R5 wheels. The settings below can be changed in the F1 24 wheel settings screen. Later in this guide, I’ll also look at our recommended MOZA Pit House settings.

Recommended MOZA R9 & R12 settings

A step up in price will bring you into the range of the MOZA Racing R9 and R12 wheel bases. These racing wheels are mid-range direct drive wheels offering a good performance-to-price ratio. The MOZA R9 produces 9Nm of peak torque while the R12 increase that to R12.

The newer R12 wheel base also introduced new force feedback algorithms, which improve the overall feeling and immersion felt through the wheel. Out of the two racing wheels, the R12 would be my recommendation, however, it does come with an increased price tag.

Recommended MOZA R16 & R21 settings

The most premium and powerful racing wheels from MOZA are the R16 and R21. These were the first wheel bases that MOZA ever released a few years ago, and both have seen updates since their launch. If you were to buy either the R16 or R21 from MOZA today, you would receive the updated version 2 which includes the more up-to-date force feedback algorithms found in the R12 wheel base.

Both of these wheels are compatible with all MOZA steering wheels, and are both directly compatible with F1 24. I highly recommend adjusting the preset in-game wheel settings as these two wheel bases are a lot more powerful than other MOZA wheels.

Using the F1 24 preset will feel incredibly strong and heavy. The optimised settings below make the R16 and R21 much more comfortable to race with whilst optimising the force feedback detail.

Recommended MOZA Pit House settings

Along with adjusting the F1 24 in-game force feedback settings, with a MOZA Racing wheel, you also have access to a piece of software called Pit House. This software lets you change a variety of settings on you MOZA hardware. You can adjust the colour of any RGB lighting, along with how each piece of MOZA hardware you own behaves in game.

I would highly recommend adjusting a variety of settings within Pit House as it can have a big impact on how your wheel behaves. If you jump into F1 24 and your wheel is turning too slowly or too fast, it is highly likely that you need to adjust Pit House settings such as the steering angle.

Below are our recommended Pit House settings for F1 24. These are relatively universal for all MOZA wheels, however, some settings such as the force feedback intensity can be changed depending on which MOZA wheel you own.

Basic settings

The basic settings offer you a range of wheel settings that adjust key elements such as your steering rotation and overall force feedback intensity. These can be adjusted quickly and easily, and most settings are fairly self-explanatory.

  • Maximum steering angle – 380°
    The steering angle should always normally be set to around 360° which is the correct steering lock for a Formula 1 car. In F1 24, it can be better to set this to 380° due to the new handling model.
  • Road sensitivity – 9
    The road sensitivity setting will adjust how the track surface feels in F1 24. Increasing this can make the road feel bumpier or noisier, while lower settings will smooth the road details out. Setting this value high will allow you to feel the track much better.
  • Game force feedback intensity – 100%
    The overall force feedback intensity setting adjusts the strength of your wheel. I would always set this to 100% no matter which MOZA wheel you are using. Then you can decrease the force feedback strength using the F1 24 in-game setting.
  • Maximum wheel speed – 50%
    The wheel speed setting will adjust the return to center speed. A setting of around 50% is ideal for a Formula 1 car.
  • Wheel spring strength – 0%
    The spring strength will introduce an extra return-to-center effect which is designed for games that don’t include this effect. In F1 24, this isn’t needed, so keep it at zero.
  • Wheel damper – 40%
    The wheel damper setting will dampen some of the force feedback detail to avoid the detail becoming too overwhelming. Lowering this will make your wheel vibrate more and can feel natural. Around 40-45% is ideal for all MOZA wheels in F1 24.

Advanced settings

There are a range of other settings available in Pit House which are categorised under the advanced settings tab. These allow for more refinements to be made to your force feedback. You don’t have to adjust these settings if the force feedback is feeling good already. However, using our optimised settings will further enhance the force feedback.

  • Professional game force feedback intensity – 100%
    The professional force feedback intensity setting can be used to increase the overall force feedback strength past 100% if necessary. However, I recommend leaving it at 100% for F1 24.
  • Maximum output torque limit – 100%
    The out torque limit is another way to cap your wheel’s force feedback. Lowering this will ensure your wheel never exceeds a specific torque value. I recommend leaving it at 100% for all MOZA wheels, including the powerful R16 and R21. Instead, we can cap the force feedback using the F1 24 in-game setting.
  • Hands-off protection and steering wheel inertia – On + 2800
    The hands-off protection setting is a safety feature that can detect if you let go of your wheel. Doing this can cause your wheel to rotate incredibly fast and in some cases cause an injury if you have to put your hand in to stop the rotation. Setting the hands-off protection to around 2800 can help avoid any injury if you do let go of the steering wheel.
  • Natural inertia – 200%
    The natural inertia setting is rather similar to the wheel damper, helping you tailor the smoothness and weight of your wheel. I’d set this to 200% for F1 24.
  • Wheel friction – 30%
    Wheel friction works alongside the natural inertia and wheel dampening to simulate weight in your steering wheel, and in particular, friction between the tyres and track surface. Settings this to around 25-30% is ideal.
  • Speed-dependent damping – 65%
    The speed-dependent damping setting will affect your steering wheel’s weight based on your car’s in-game speed. This can be helpful to prevent your steering wheel from becoming too lively while at high speed. I opt for a value of around 65% for this setting.
  • Start point of speed-dependent damping – 200km/h
    The start point of the speed-dependent dapming does exactly what it says on the tin. This value sets the speed at which the speed-dependent damping kicks in. Around 200km/h is ideal here, but you can tailor this up and down.

FFB effect equaliser

If you really want to dive deep into how your force feedback is feeling in F1 24, MOZA gives you the chance with its force feedback effect equaliser. This tab within Pit House lets you adjust the instensity of forces at different frequecnies.

This can be ideal for toning down or highlighting specific feedback such as kerb effects or small details that can sometimes get lost. The below frequency settings works well in F1 24.

  • 10Hz – 80%
  • 15Hz – 120%
  • 25Hz – 170%
  • 40Hz – 180%
  • 50Hz – 160%

Base FFB curve

MOZA Racing really gives you a tonne of cusomtisation options, and the base force feedback curve is another one. This lets you tweak the intensity of the force feedback along its output curve. Changing this can make the effects stronger or weaker at different points along its output curve.

I generally leave this set to linear as we have made detailed refinements using the other settings. However, if you want to make your wheel feel stronger at the start or end of the output signal, this is a great way to make pretty sweeping changes so don’t be afraid to play with this setting.

Pit House preset

Changing all of these settings can take time. Fortunatuly, MOZA allows you to quickly upload or save a preset file. I have saved our MOZA preset with the settings above, and you can quickly import this into your Pit House to use our settings without having to manually adjust each option.

How to set up a MOZA racing wheel in F1 24

The final thing I want to touch on is important, especially if you are having any issues while setting up a MOZA wheel in F1 24. Ensuring that your wheel is set up correctly can fix many connectivity issues. Below is a quick overview of how to set up a MOZA Racing wheel in F1 24.

  1. Connect your MOZA racing wheel to your PC

    Start by mounting your racing wheel to your sim rig or desk, then connect it to your PC and power everything on.

  2. Download and install Pit House

    Head over to the MOZA website and download Pit House for free. Once downloaded, follow the installation wizard to install Pit House. It should recognise your MOZA products once started.

  3. Update firmware

    The first time you start Pit House, you will be prompted to update the firmware of your MOZA hardware. If you don’t get a prompt, use the sidebar to navigate to the update panel. You can click the “One click update” button to update the firmware for all hardware connected. Leave Pit House alone while it updates everything. This can result in your devices turning off and on again by themselves which is normal.

  4. Configure Pit House with F1 24

    Next, it is important to configure F1 24 in Pit House. This is done simply by clicking the auto configure button on the F1 24 game window in the right tab. This will ensure all relevant files are installed so that your wheel works with F1 24.

  5. Enter the recommended Pit House settings

    Before launching F1 24, I’d recommend inputting the Pit House settings I’ve recommended above, or using our preset file to import the settings.

  6. Update the F1 24 wheel settings

    The final step is to start F1 24 and update the in-game wheel settings with our recommendations above. Ensure you use the correct settings for the MOZA wheel that you are using.

With the recommended MOZA Racing settings above, F1 24 should feel better than ever with your racing wheel. You can adjust the settings until you are happy, however, our recommendations above have been optimised as a great starting point.

If you change any MOZA Pit House settings, I’d recommend saving them as a preset, just incase you want to make changes or resort back to an old settings file.
