Being such a popular racing game, F1 24 has to support the majority of popular racing wheels. Most sim racing wheels and steering wheels will be compatible with F1 24. Even if the game doesn’t include a preset configuration for a certain wheel or controller, you can create a custom layout for most inputs.
The F1 games have become more popular than ever over the past few years thanks to the increase in popularity in both sim racing and Formula 1. Drive To Survive has brought a new audience to Formula 1, and many jump into the F1 games to try out the incredible cars on track.
The good news is that EA Sports and Codemasters have done a good job at ensuring F1 24 and last year’s F1 23 games are as accessible as ever. Players at all skill levels can jump in and tweak the settings to make the game enjoyable. This extends to the peripherals used to control the cars in game.
Many will jump into F1 24 using either an Xbox or PlayStation controller, and these work well. Those looking to immerse themselves further into the world of Formula 1 may look to use a racing wheel and pedals. This controller method lets drivers really feel some of what the real-world drivers feel when behind the wheel.
For those who jump into F1 24 using a racing wheel, it is always nice to know that your chosen racing wheel will work in game. There is nothing worse than buying a racing wheel just to find out it isn’t supported in your favourite racing game. Thankfully, the controller and racing wheel compatibility in F1 24 is pretty vast and includes the majority of popular racing wheels.
Suppose you own or are looking to buy almost any modern racing wheel from popular brands such as Fanatec, Logitech, Thrustmaster or MOZA Racing. In that case, you can be pretty confident that the wheel will be supported. Other racing wheels such as the premium wheels from Asetek and Simucube are also compatible, however, they may take a little more initial setup in some cases.
Below I will show all of the racing wheels that are compatible in F1 24 across each platform. I’ll start with PS4 and PS5 compatibility, then Xbox and finally PC. You will find that there will be a larger list of compatible products on PC as almost all racing wheels work on PC, whereas they generally have restrictive compatibility with consoles.
Until EA Sports releases an official list of F1 24 compatible racing wheels, all of the lists below are based on racing wheels that were compatible with F1 23, and are expected to work in F1 24.
Read our guide on the best racing wheels for F1 24 for Xbox, PS5 and PC.
The racing wheels below are compatible with F1 24 on PS4 and PS5. This list includes the main wheel bases and not every steering wheel. All steering wheels will need to be PlayStation-compatible and mounted to one of the wheel bases below to function.
Read our buyer’s guide for our recommended PlayStation 5 racing wheels.
All of the racing wheels below are compatible with F1 24 on Xbox One and Xbox Series S|X. Many of them have pre-configured layouts and button mapping already in game and should be recognised in game once the wheel is connected to your console.
All of the racing wheels below are PC-compatible and can be used with F1 24. Not all of these wheels come with pre-configured button mapping within F1 24, and some may require you to manually set up or configure your racing wheel to get it working.
Below is a range of other peripherals that aren’t racing wheels that can be used with F1 24. These include a range of shifters, pedals and other peripherals that can add extra immersion in game.
Fanatec has a small range of wheel bases that work across different consoles. Generally, Fanatec split its product lineup into racing wheels that are compatible with either Xbox or PlayStation, whilst all have PC compatibility as standard.
There are some exceptions to this rule such as the ClubSport DD+ and GT DD Pro wheels. Both of these wheel bases are designed for PlayStation, however, if you connect an Xbox-compatible Fanatec steering wheel, they can also be used on an Xbox console.
Fanatec’s current lineup of racing wheels includes the following racing wheels;
When it comes to recommending a Fanatec racing wheel for F1 24, there is a good lineup of products to choose from. Fanatec has long been one of the most popular sim racing brands having produced high-quality racing wheels for over a decade.
The Fanatec wheel I’d recommend is the GT DD Pro. This is a racing wheel that bridges the gap between entry-level and mid-range. It’s a direct drive racing wheel meaning it is capable of producing strong peak forces and incredibly detailed force feedback details.
One of the key reasons I would recommend this Fanatec wheel to sim racers who are either new to F1 24 or looking to upgrade their current racing wheel is its versatility. This racing wheel is compatible with both Xbox and PS5 consoles as well as PC. It is fairly well-priced and performs incredibly well.
If you are looking for extreme performance, Fanatec does have the mighty ClubSport DD+ wheel base capable of 15Nm of peak torque. However, that wheel base comes with a price tag over double that of the GT DD Pro, putting it firmly in the premium category of racing wheels.
Logitech G is a gaming brand that produces a wide range of peripherals from controllers and racing wheels to headphones and cameras. Its lineup of racing wheels is much smaller than other dedicated sim racing brands. However, the Logitech G923 and G29 before it are among the most popular sim racing wheels.
This is due to their low price tags making them affordable for many first-time sim racers. The Logitech G923 is Logitech’s current generation of entry-level racing wheel and has both an Xbox and PS5 compatible variant. However, there isn’t a single version that works on both consoles unfortunately.
Below is a list of all F1 24 compatible Logitech racing wheels;
Logitech does sell a more high-end sim racing wheel, the Logitech Pro Wheel. This is a direct drive racing wheel similar to the Fanatec GT DD Pro that I recommended above. This wheel is also compatible with both Xbox and PS5 consoles much like the G923, however, it is the lower-cost G923 racing wheel that I’d recommend.
The Logitech G923 is such a fantastic racing wheel for a few reasons. It is incredibly well-priced, giving players a complete sim racing bundle for a lower cost than many individual wheel bases. The force feedback that the Logitech G923 is good given its price range, and it is also widely compatible with most sim racing games and consoles.
Thrustmaster produces possibly the largest active lineup of sim racing wheels of any brand. Much like Fanatec, Thrustmaster has been one of the most popular sim racing brands for years. They often partner with real-world car manufacturer and F1 team Ferrari which leads to some of the nicest branded steering wheels around.
The Ferrari SF1000 steering wheel is a pinnacle of this partnership. It’s an authentic replica of the steering wheel used by Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel. All elements of the wheel have been replicated and are functional on some platforms.
Below is a complete list of F1 24 compatible Thrustmaster racing wheels.
Much like Logitech, Thrustmaster have one racing wheel that is perfect for beginners and newcomers to sim racing and the F1 games. The Thrustmaster T248 is very similar to the Logitech G923 in many ways including price.
It is a relatively affordable racing wheel that is designed to be accessible on all consoles. The T248 looks slightly more modern than the Logitech G923, and features an in-built display and a range of other inputs that let you control your car in game.
The Thrustmaster T248 utilises belt-driven force feedback that produces smooth and refined force feedback. It isn’t as powerful or detailed as direct drive technology found in all Fanatec racing wheels, however, it is widely considered to be better than gear-driven technology that Logitech uses.
MOZA Racing is the newest sim racing brand that is producing racing wheels for F1 24 and other titles. Originating in China, MOZA has taken sim racing by storm by releasing a wide range of racing wheels, steering wheels and other sim racing peripherals in a short space of time.
Up until the release of the MOZA R3, all of their racing wheels were only compatible with PC. The MOZA R3 introduced Xbox compatibility into their ecosystem for the first time. The R3 is a budget-friendly direct drive racing wheel aimed to compete with the Fanatec CSL DD and be an upgrade option over wheels like the Logitech G923 and Thrustmaster T248.
Below are all MOZA Racing wheels that are compatible with F1 24.
MOZA Racing produces a number of very good racing wheels. It would be easy to recommend the R3 wheel due to its low cost and Xbox compatibility, however, I would actually recommend the R12 wheel base.
The MOZA R12 is a mid-range wheel base capable of producing 12Nm of peak torque from its direct drive motor. This is an incredible amount of strength from the small wheel and is responsible for producing some of the most immersive and detailed force feedback of any racing wheel.
The MOZA R12 has a party trick and that is with its unique force feedback algorithm. This allows for an additional layer of force feedback to be present underpinning the main forces. Some more subtle rumbles and vibrations can be felt as you drive over kerbs and bumpy surfaces. These add to the overall immersion making the R12 one of my favourite racing wheels of the past few years.

Many of the racing wheels listed in this guide will have preset configurations as soon as you start the game. If this isn’t the case, you may need to assign your input when you first start F1 24. Then you can adjust settings to make your racing wheel feel the way you want it to.
Both the console versions of F1 24 include racing wheel support. Console sim racing is a bit more restrictive than PC sim racing, however, many of the most popular racing wheels are console-compatible. Simply ensure you have the correct version of a racing wheel that will work on your Xbox or PS5.
