Since the official Formula 1 season has been postponed, F1 fans and drivers have all been looking for something to scratch that itch. And it has been found in the form of virtual F1 races.
Since the official cancellation of the Australian grand prix, numerous content creators have been holding virtual grand prix online. These have come in the form of online races, taking part on games such as iRacing and F1 2019.
Veloce Esports have been at the front of the virtual race trend since the start. A trend that has even see Formula 1 themselves hosting virtual online races. Veloce have been hosting online races featuring real world Formula 1 drivers, along with celebrities, other professional drivers and Esports drivers.
The Veloce Esports series has been named “Not The… GP” and began on the same weekend that the Australian GP was supposed to take place. Not the Australian GP was a huge hit, and saw the likes of Lando Norris, Stoffel Vandoorne, Esteban Gutierrez race wheel to wheel. The race took place on the F1 2019 game, at the virtual Australian GP track, and saw Dani Bereznay (@FormulaDani) take the win.

Since the first NotTheAusGP, there has been a second event in Bahrain, which attracted even more big named celebrities and race drivers. Watch a full recap of the #NotTheBahGP.
This weekend, we have the third installment of the Veloce virtual Grand Prix. And this event is slightly different. This event will see professional drivers racing head to head against celebrities and Esports drivers. All races will be a 1 on 1, single lap sprint race.
The driver who wins the race will proceed to face another winning driver, with the loser being knocked out. This will continue until there are only 2 drivers left, who will face off in a head to head final race to crown the victor.
The races have been setup in a knockout style competition starting with a round of 16. You can view the full competition chart below.

Watch the full live stream of the Not The… GP ‘Versus’ below. The live stream starts at 18:00 GMT on Sunday 5th April 2020. It will be live on this page and hosted by Veloce Esport’s Haydon Gullis and Ginger Andy.
The Not The… GP isn’t the only virtual race happening this weekend. There will also be events held by F1 themselves, including the second event in the “Virtual GP by F1” racing series.
The F1 Virtual GP will also feature a list of real racing drivers including F1 drivers Charles Leclerc, Lando Norris, Alex Albon, George Russell, Antonio Giovinazzi and Nicholas Latifi, along with the 2009 world champion Jenson Button, 2019 cricket world cup winner Ben Stokes and a host of other celebrities.
Following the Virtual GP, will be an official Esports event, hosted by F1. This event will be a professional exhibition race, featuring the best F1 Esports drivers.
