Qatar is an incredibly fun circuit to race around. Its super flat, letting you be pretty aggressive with your car setup, and each corner flows from one to the other. It is a circuit that will benefit from higher downforce, although, despite the AI behaviour being tweaked in the most recent patch, they are still rockets in a straight line, which is something we do need to account for.

For the front and rear wing, I have gone with a setup of 36 and 35. This is pretty neutral and and balanced. You don’t want an overly pointy car at Qatar, as many of the corners are long, and you do need pretty good rear downforce to keep the car facing the right direction.
We can be a little more aggressive with the transmission. I have opted for 75% on throttle differential, however, you can push this higher towards 100% if you’re feeling confident in the car. This will give you good drive out of the long corners, and there aren’t many heavy traction zones to really be concerned about. Then, an off throttle differential of 35% is a good go to option.
With the geometry, I have it all set to the left once again.
With our suspension setup, we can be aggressive with 41 and 1 on front and rear. Yes, stability is needed, and we cover that with an anti-roll bar setup of 15 and 19. Then, set the ride height to 21 and 47, which is about as low as we can go before we start to scrape the track at certain points.
With few really heavy braking zones, we can set the bias a little more rearward at 53%. This will promote good rotation into the long corners. Then go with 100% brake pressure.
Qatar will punish your tyres in a similar way to Spain, due to the really high track and air temps and the flowing, long corners that are littered around a lap. Go with maximum tyre pressures for all four corners to round out this Qatar car setup.

This really is a drivers track, with nods to circuits like Interlagos and Zandvoort. The races can be incredibly fun, and with this year’s AI, you can perform incredibly well into and through corners. There aren’t too many really big acceleration zones where the AI can pull away, so expect a fast and eventful race.
Let me know your thoughts on this setup and how you find it during a race. Remember, this isn’t a time trial setup, and is designed specifically for races, and has been created using a racing wheel.
