After the super fast Silverstone and Spa, we get to the much slower and trickier Hungaroring circuit. This is a track that combines elements from places like Monaco and Zandvoort, and really requires precision and a hell of a lot of downforce.

Although, with that in mind, this is a car setup where keeping up with the AI has taken priority over outright lap time. Typically, to get the fastest lap time in time trial, you’ll want to run your Hungary setup with 50-50 wings. This will lead to super quick times, but will mean during a career mode race, you’re going to get destroyed by the AI down the pit straight.

With the majority of you guys racing against the AI in career or My Team, I have focused around creating a setup that can compete with the AI down the straights, while also remaining fast and stable. But be warned, for those looking for a time trial setup, this is not the setup you’re looking for.

If you do want that style of car setup with 50-50 wings or close to it, so you can own everyone in a league race or in time trial, check out our Pro F1 25 car setups. That bundle includes multiple setups for Hungary and every track, with setups geared much more for ultimate lap time, and less towards sacrificing lap time to keep up with the AI in a straight line.

Aero setup

With all of that said, lets look at our aerodynamic setup. I have not gone with the normal approach of 50-50 wings. Instead, I’ve gone as low as 36-36. This does let you race the AI down the pit straight and into the first corner, and I know from your comments that you guys really value a setup that is more low downforce.

If you want to jump into time trial or test a setup with better lap time potential, and don’t mind sacrificing straight line speed, you can push the aero all the way up to 50-50.

Transmission setup

Hungary is a circuit with a lot of slower corners, and traction out of corners such as turn 1, 2, 7 and 12 can be hard to come by. For this reason, I’ve set the on throttle differential to 50% to really help you limit wheelspin as much as possible.

Again, this is a different approach to many time trial setups and our Pro setups. But its one of the key differences that make this a good race setup. Set your off throttle differential lower than normal at just 30%. This really affects the car on the approach to the corner, and helps rotate the car a little better.

Suspension geometry setup

With the geometry, you’ve guessed it. I have it all set to the left once again.

Suspension setup

Like with many car setups, I have the front suspension set to 41, but I’ve bumped the rear suspension up slightly to 4. Being low will aid with traction, but bumping it up slightly just allows for a little more rotation mid corner, and that’s important around some of the longer radius turns that you find around Hungary.

For the anti-roll bar, I’ve flipped things on their head, all in the name of stability. Go with a super high 17 on the front ARB, and just 15 on the rear. This really helps keep your car facing the right way and prevents a lot of over rotation that can happen when your ARBs become over loaded through longer turns.

Then set the ride height to 21 and 48. You’ll be all over the kerbs at Hungary, some of which are quite high. And the track itself is bumpy in places, so a slightly higher ride height is beneficial.

Brake setup

I have the bias set to 54%, which can really help reduce front locking into corners such as turn 13 where your inside left tyre often locks. And set the pressure to 100% like normal.

Tyre setup

For the tyres, I’ve lowered the front pressures slightly. This will help them grip the track a little more, providing a bit more mechanical grip, as well as keeping them in the right temperature window. Then, bump the rears right up to maximum, as they will heat up super fast.

Conclusion

This rounds out our recommended Hungary car setup for F1 25. This is a slightly different approach to most setups you’ll find on the time trial leaderboard. I’ve really focused on straight line performance as so many of you have asked for this style of setup.

You may think it isn’t needed around Hungary, but if you run 50-50 wings throughout a race, you’re almost certainly not going to be able to overtake into turn 1, whereas this setup is a big improvement in that area.

If you want a setup that is more focused towards unlocking the fastest lap times, we do have our Pro F1 25 setups. The setups in there are designed to put in the fastest lap times in modes such as time trial, and when racing competitively online. You’ll find a range of setups including higher downforce Esports style setups, safe setups and soon, we’ll be adding low downforce setups too.
