EA Sports and Codemasters have made F1 25 as compatible as possible for all players and sim racers. This means that most big brand sim racing wheels and controllers will be compatible with F1 25, as long as they are compatible with the console or platform you’re racing on. There are also many preset configurations included in F1 25, meaning you won’t have to manually set up every racing wheel you connect.
This year’s F1 25 game works to build on the foundation that the patches throughout F1 24’s game cycle laid out. The previous F1 game, F1 24, launched with rather strange handling, which was fixed and updated via a series of patches. F1 25 build’s upon this foundation while adding more realism to the game in the form of laser scanned (LIDAR) tracks, and a host of other improvements.
When jumping into F1 25, you’re first decision is what style of controller you’ll use. Do you plan on racing with a racing wheel such as the Logitech G923, Fanatec CSL DD, or any other wheel. Or are you a controller player?
In this F1 25 guide, I’m going to explore every racing wheel and controller that is compatible with F1 25. If you’re planning on buying a new racing wheel or controller to play this year’s Formula 1 game, check the list below to confirm compatibility.
Racing wheel compatibility is incredibly important as not every wheel is supported on every game and platform. Many racing wheels are only PC compatible, and those that do work with F1 25 on PS5 and Xbox have strict compatibility.
2024 and 2025 has seen the release of more PS5 and Xbox compatible racing wheels, which is a great move for console sim racers. Brands such as MOZA Racing released Xbox compatible sim racing hardware, and other brands are planning on more console hardware throughout 2025.
Below is a list of all the racing wheels compatible with F1 25 across each platform. We’ll start by covering the best racing wheels for PS4 and PS5, then move on to Xbox-compatible racing wheels, and finally look at PC racing wheels.
As you’ll see, the PC platform offers the widest range of compatible racing wheels for F1 25, since almost all sim racing hardware works on PC. In contrast, PlayStation and Xbox have more limited and restrictive compatibility, meaning it’s important to check which wheels work specifically with your console before making a purchase.
Whether you’re a PlayStation, Xbox, or PC player, this F1 25 racing wheel compatibility guide will help you find the perfect setup to maximize your racing experience.
