EA Sports have officially announced the beta for this year’s F1 25 game. Sign ups are currently open for the closed beta, however the window to sign up to the beta does close soon. In this guide, I’ll look at how to sign up and play the F1 25 beta this year.
Is there an F1 25 beta?
Yes, an official EA Sports F1 beta has been confirmed for the 2025 game. You can currently sign up to play the EA Sports F1 25 beta via the EA playtesting website. Below is a quick guide on how to sign up to this years beta test.
When does the EA Sports F1 25 beta registration end?
The last date to register your interest for the F1 25 beta is on the 23rd March, as the beta registration ends at 12:00PM UTC on March 24. EA Sports has also stated that there are limited places in the F1 25 beta, so registering early is beneficial.
When will the official F1 25 beta dates take place?
The official EA Sports F1 25 beta has two playtesting dates. The dates are;
- March 27-31 – 10am UTC
- April 30-May 5 – 10am UTC
These playtesting dates both have a five day testing window, and thre will be live servers running throughout both playtesting dates. These dates are the same for all platforms, including Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
How to sign up to the F1 25 beta
Follow the steps below to sign up to the F1 25 beta.
- Log in to your EA account
the first step is to head over to the EA website and sign into your account. You can do this using your Xbox, Playstation or Steam account, or using the email you used when first registering an account with EA.
- Visit the playtesting website
You then need to head over to the playtesting website portal. This can be found at http://www.ea.com/playtesting
- Choose the EA Sports F1 beta
If you can apply for the F1 beta, you will see it listed in your available playtests. If you cannot see it, it can mean that you’ve already applied and registered your interest, or that it isn’t available for you to sign up to.
- Complete the application and submit
After choosing the F1 beta, follow the application process which will ask you about the platform you play on and a few other questions. You can choose more than one console if you want to play on multiple platforms, although you may only be accepted to one playtest.
- Keep an eye on your emails
If you are accepted into the playtesting for the F1 25 beta, EA will contact you via email. Keep an eye on your inbox for further instructions on how to choose a playtesting date.
What will be included in the F1 25 beta?
The goal of any playtest is to trial the game, test for bugs and get feedback from players. This means that the content is often limited, as developers don’t want players not buying the game in the future.
Will there be official liveries in the F1 25 beta?
Almost certainly not. In previous F1 betas, there have been no team logos, real drivers or official liveries. Instead, you get to choose from a preset selection of car colours and made up drivers to race with.
Which tracks will be included?
EA will only include a small selection of tracks to race on. These will likely be tracks carried over from last years game, unless big track changes have been made.

What game modes can I test?
It is likely that Ea will want to test various aspects of F1 25 before it releases. This means, you will be able to race in a variety of modes. You should expect a single-player race mode, time trial, as well as multiplayer lobbies.
Online racing is often one of the most important parts of a play test, as EA will want to stress test their servers, and iron out any bugs that may prevent sim racers from competing online from the first day of the games release.
