Coming off the back of our Silverstone car setup, we’re at that part of the Formula 1 season, where we have a few classic tracks that are incredibly fun to drive. The next one up is Spa-Francorchamps, and this is one of the fastest circuits in the game.

Most of the corners are medium speed and require a nice stable car that really lets you push the limits. The kerbs around Spa are pretty flat, letting us be fairly aggressive with our suspension setup to get the most out of a complete lap.

The only real sticking points around Spa are the two heavy traction zones that are found coming out of the slow final chicane and La Source. These cause us a little bit of a headache when creating a setup as they do limit the aero, suspension and transmission setup slightly.

Aero setup

Talking of aero, for such a fast circuit, we want to minimise drag as much as possible. For this reason, I have the front wing set right down at just 3, and the rear set to 0. This will give us a car that is as slippery as possible for the incredibly long runs down the Kemmel Straight and the kink at the rear of the track.

Having a front wing of 3, will just give the car a little more bite when turning into some of the medium to fast corners such as Les Combes.

Transmission setup

Follow this up with an on throttle differential of 85%. With the high speed nature of Spa, we can really push our transmission setup to give us the best oomph out of the faster corners. As I mentioned at the start, you just need to watch the traction out of the final chicane and out of the first corner.

I like to lower the on throttle differential to anywhere between 50-80% as I head through Blanchimont. And then I’ll raise it back up after La Source. Then go ahead and the set the off throttle differential to 45%. We don’t need it much lower as the front wing aero and the high speed nature of Spa doesn’t require as much rotation from the diff as some tracks.

Suspension geometry setup

With the geometry, you’ve guessed it. I have it all set to the left once again.

Suspension setup

Much like Silverstone, setting the suspension to 41 and 1 is the best route around Spa. I’ve also used the same anti-roll bar setup at the front with 16, and I have the rear set 1 point lower than maximum at 20. This combination will give you a really stable feeling car through the medium and higher speed corners.

Then, the ride height is set to 20 and 48. There are a few bumps, meaning we can’t go too much lower in a race with a full fuel load, and the rear set to 48 gives good stability at higher speed.

Brake setup

I’ve gone with 54% on the brake bias for Spa. There are a couple of heavier braking zones, but the majority are shorter, faster spots. This means a slightly more rearward bias of 54% can free up the front a little to rotate easier. Then, as always, set the brake pressure to 100%.

Tyre setup

Finally, like many setups in F1 25, we want maximum tyre pressures. Despite the long straights, your tyres will still get pretty hot through the twistier middle sector, and the increased pressures help reduce this. It also has the added bonus of helping increase your top speed, which is a bonus around Spa.

Conclusion

And that completes our recommended Spa-Francorchamps car setup in F1 25. Much like Silverstone, this classic circuit is super fun thanks to its fast corners, and a layout where you can actually battle the AI throughout most of the lap.
