With F1 25 now here, it’s time for our customary car setups, much like we do each year. With F1 25, things are a little different. We’re still going to be creating the free setups, like I do every year, which are created by myself, and designed to give you a better than baseline setup that is both fast and stable during a race, with good tyre wear.
You may have seen already, but we’ve also partnered with some seriously quick setup creators that compete in online leagues, and they are producing our Pro F1 25 setups. Those setups are different to these free F1 25 car setups, and are created entirely to extract as much performance from the car as possible, giving you the absolute quickest car in all conditions. They’re created by our team of league racers, who are among the fastest drivers in F1 25, and much faster than me.

But back to this setup. First of all, I’ve created this setup with a Fanatec wheel, so it’ll be optimised for wheel users, but is designed to be stable enough to drive with a controller.
So let’s jump into the first F1 25 setup, Australia. With the aero. Here I’ve gone with 21 at the front and 17 at the rear. This year, there isn’t as much front end grip as we had last year, meaning the cars tend to understeer more.
A bit of understeer is fine as it adds to stability during a race, but we don’t want too much that the car becomes hard to rotate. Lowering the rear aero down to 17 is enough to allow the car to rotate. And a set up of 21 and 17 will make you incredibly quick down the straights, even compared to the fast top speeds of the AI.
With the transmission, a carry over from last year is the tendency to have a high on throttle differential, and much lower off throttle. This allows for good rotation at slower speeds, while giving a good push under acceleration.
I haven’t set the on throttle to 100, leaving it at 90, just to add a tiny bit more stability, especially through the final corner. Then go with 45% off throttle differential. Much lower, and the car becomes a little too willing to rotate.
Talking about carry overs from last year, the trend is to go full left on all the geometry settings again this year. There just isn’t much need to increase them, so set them all to the left and move on.
With the suspension, things are pretty extreme. I have set the suspension to 41 at the front and just 2 at the rear. Then the ARBs to 12 and 21, with a ride height of 21 and 49. This is pretty aggressive to look at, although some time trial and league setups take this concept to an even bigger extreme.
By keeping the front ARB up at 12, the car is slightly less likely to over rotate and oversteer, and in combination with other parts of this setup. It produces a car that’s willing to turn, while remaining stable at higher speeds.
Our brake setup remains very neutral with a bias of 54% and pressure of 100%. You can play with the bias, moving it slightly more forward for some of the heavier braking zones such as turn 3 and 11.
Finally, with the tyre setup, I have increased them all a lot. I’ve set the front pressures to 29psi, and the rears to 26psi. This high approach helps with cooling the tyres during longer duration races. Although, I haven’t set the front tyres to their max, as the hard tyre in particular, especially at the front right of the car, has a tendency to struggle to heat up when at max pressures.
And that rounds out the first F1 25 setup for this year. This setup worked wonders for me during my first full race at Aus, with decent tyre wear, and great pace against 105% AI difficulty.
Let me know in the comments below how you’re finding this years game. I think its a big improvement over last year, so I’d be interested to hear your thoughts. Also, let me know your thoughts on this setup, or whether you’ve checked out our pro setups, which are designed to be faster and more competitive.
If our free F1 25 car setups aren’t quite fast enough, check out our F1 25 Pro Setup Pack. It includes multiple optimised setups for every track, all created by some of the fastest league drivers. It also features stable car setups designed to make the car easier to control, as well as quali, tyre and race strategies for every Grand Prix.
