Setting up Automobilista 2 ready for LFM

The first step to start sim racing Automobilista 2 using LFM is to sign into the LFM website. This will be your platform for joining servers and tracking your results and progress.

You can create an account completely free at lowfuelmotorsport.com. Unlike when competing in Assetto Corsa Competizione, you won’t need to undertake a license test to start racing AMS2. Instead, you can jump right into a series and join a server.

Assetto Corsa race in LFM

To join a series and a server on LFM, follow these steps.

  1. Select the current season in the top navigation: Hover over seasons in the menu, and select the latest season in the drop-down menu.
  2. Choose your series: You will be presented with a range of different series. You can only compete in series in which you have the correct license for, meaning some series will be locked initially. You can improve your license as you compete, which will open up new series to compete in.
  3. Download required DLC: Each series and weekly event requires a different set of DLC. These packs are required to compete as they include tracks and cars used for each weekly race. You’ll need to make sure you have the required DLC packs installed before joining a server.
  4. Choose a session: As you scroll down, you’ll see a range of sessions to choose from. These all have different start times, normally spaced 2 hours apart for AMS2 races. Select the session you wish to join and click sign up.
  5. Read and agree to the code of conduct: Before committing to a session, you’ll have to agree to the LFM code of conduct. This is a document which lays out how to behave during a session. Once read, agree to this and click “Sign me up!”
  6. Join the session in AMS2: Before the session starts, head into AMS2 and into the multiplayer menu. Use the server details for your session to join the right server, using the password to gain entry.

Do I need to download any mods for AMS2 to use LFM?

Unlike Assetto Corsa which does utilise mods, AMS2 doesn’t require any mods. However, you will need different DLC packs for different series. These include car and track packs and are required for some series.

How to know which AMS2 DLC to install?

Every series will list the required DLC above the sessions. These do change from week to week as different tracks are used, and they are different from series to series. This means you will have to keep an eye on ensuring you have the correct DLC each week.

How to start racing in LFM

To get started racing Automobilista 2 using Low Fuel Motorsports, follow our steps above. Each session itself will include other sim racers who have signed up for the session. If there are a lot of participants, drivers will be divided into splits, creating multiple sessions.

Most LFM sessions include a short practice session, followed by a qualifying session and then the race. These vary between each series, with some featuring longer races than others. Typically, the practice will be 3 minutes, qualifying will be 8 minutes and race will be 20 to 30 minutes.

Checking FLM seasonal standings

Throughout each season of LFm, you will earn points based on your finishing position each race. You will also improve your ELO which is a driver rating system within Low Fuel Motorsport. During the season, you can check the standings to see where you are placed, how many races you’ve competed in, your team standings and more.
