During 2024, Low Fuel Motorsport incorporated Automobilista 2 (or AMS2 as its widely known) into its platform. This expanded LFM’s competitive online sim racing league and scheduling to create the first AMS2 LFM season.
Now, in 2025, the popularity of AMS2 races in LFM has risen, so for those new to Low Fuel Motorsport, I’m going to run through a step-by-step guide on how to set up Automobilista 2 for LFM. I’ll look at what you need to install, how to sign up to LFM, and how to start racing AMS2 using Low Fuel Motorsport.
Getting started sim racing in AMS2 using LFM is actually a pretty simple process. It involves you installing Automobilista 2 on your PC, ensuring you have the required DLC packs and creating a Low Fuel Motorsport account.
Low Fuel Motorsport is an independent competitive sim racing platform, allowing drivers to compete across seasonal calendars in various different series. It brings structure to online sim racing by tracking results, adding a progression system, racing on private servers and tracking seasonal standings. Read our complete guide on Low Fuel Motorsport here.
Tick off the following list and you’ll be good to start racing.
With all of those elements checked off, you can start sim racing in Automobilista 2 using LFM. I’ll show you how in more detail below.
Use our LFM Automobilista 2 car setups for an advantage every week! Setup bundles are updated weekly in line with the upcoming LFM race.
The first step to start sim racing Automobilista 2 using LFM is to sign into the LFM website. This will be your platform for joining servers and tracking your results and progress.
You can create an account completely free at lowfuelmotorsport.com. Unlike when competing in Assetto Corsa Competizione, you won’t need to undertake a license test to start racing AMS2. Instead, you can jump right into a series and join a server.
To join a series and a server on LFM, follow these steps.
Unlike Assetto Corsa which does utilise mods, AMS2 doesn’t require any mods. However, you will need different DLC packs for different series. These include car and track packs and are required for some series.
Every series will list the required DLC above the sessions. These do change from week to week as different tracks are used, and they are different from series to series. This means you will have to keep an eye on ensuring you have the correct DLC each week.
To get started racing Automobilista 2 using Low Fuel Motorsports, follow our steps above. Each session itself will include other sim racers who have signed up for the session. If there are a lot of participants, drivers will be divided into splits, creating multiple sessions.
Most LFM sessions include a short practice session, followed by a qualifying session and then the race. These vary between each series, with some featuring longer races than others. Typically, the practice will be 3 minutes, qualifying will be 8 minutes and race will be 20 to 30 minutes.
Throughout each season of LFm, you will earn points based on your finishing position each race. You will also improve your ELO which is a driver rating system within Low Fuel Motorsport. During the season, you can check the standings to see where you are placed, how many races you’ve competed in, your team standings and more.
Low Fuel Motorsports is essentially the go-to competitive sim racing platform for sims other than iRacing. This makes it extremely competitive as you’ll be competing against some of the best sim racers worldwide.
To gain an advantage during every race, we release weekly AMS2 car setups, designed specifically for LFM races. All of our setup bundles are updated every week and include setups for qualifying and races.
Our setup team currently tops the standings within AMS2 on LFM, and we have some of the top rated eSports and professional sim racers creating our car setups.

You do not need to earn a license to compete in AMS2 races on Low Fuel Motorsport. This is different from ACC, where a license is required to start racing.
You will need different DLC packs each week. These include cars and tracks which are featured in weekly races and different series. Without them, you cannot compete in the LFM series.
Each LFM season lasts 12 weeks. Each week features a different track, with races scheduled every hour ensuring it is always easy to jump into and compete in a weekly seasonal race.
