By utilising the best free mods available, you can recreate and play the entire 2022 Formula 1 season today in Assetto Corsa. Follow this guide to find out how to play F1 2022 today!
We have now seen all of the 2022 Formula 1 cars on track and all liveries revealed. However, it won’t be until June-July 2022 that we actually get to race them in the official Codemasters F1 game.
But, using some of the fantastic community mods available on Race Department, and using Assetto Corsa as our racing sim of choice, we can already race every 2022 F1 car. Also, by adding a range of track mods to Assetto Corsa, we can also add almost the entire 2022 F1 calendar to the game.
Other than ensuring that you own a copy of Assetto Corsa on PC, the first step is to download the closest thing to a real 2022 Formula 1 car.
The guys over at Race Sim Studio have produced a great representation of the 2022 Formula 1 car, call the Formula Hybrid X 2022. This isn’t a like-for-like replica of the 2022 F1 car, but is a good adaptation, and is the closest we can currently get in any racing sim.

This mod is a premium mod, but only costs a few dollars, which all go towards helping the developers continue to produce more content.
Once you have the Formula Hybrid X 2022 car downloaded, you can install it using the method below, and then you can start to load in the official 2022 car liveries!
Installing mods in Assetto Corsa can be daunting, but AC is actually one of the easiest games to mod. If you install an extension called Content Manager which is a third party add-on for Assetto Corsa, you can simply drag and drop most mods to install them.
If you don’t fancy installing Content Manager (which I highly recommend you do as it has some awesome features!) you can still install mods. You just have to do a little more leg work.

The best place to download the latest 2022 Formula 1 liveries is over at RaceDepartment. This is one of the best places to find any form of Assetto Corsa mod, with over 1,000 pages full of mods.

In the base version of Assetto Corsa, only a few tracks from the Formula 1 calendar are included. These include the ever-popular Silverstone, Spa and Monza. But you can’t have a full 2022 season with only a few tracks.
Thankfully, you can download all of the tracks from the official 2022 Formula 1 season from RaceDepartment. You can either search for each track individually and install it quickly using content manager.
Or you can download a complete championship folder such as this excellent 2022 F1 championship by Cozy61.
The championship by Cozy61 includes all of the download links to every car, track and mod you will need to run a full 2022 Formula 1 season in Assetto Corsa.
