Some of the setups on SimRacingSetup feature downloadable JSON files which most Assetto Corsa Competizione sim racers will be very familiar with.

However the majority of our setups were created on and for Xbox and PlayStation consoles racers. Therefor, because JSON files aren’t compatible with consoles, these setups are instead written in a format allowing for easy use with consoles.

In this guide I’ll run through how to best use and install our Assetto Corsa Competizione setups.

Using our ACC setups with Xbox and Playstation

The process below is the best workflow to install our setups on both Xbox and PlayStation versions of ACC. This does also work with PC where a JSON file isn’t available.

Step 1 – Find a setup you’d like to use

Step 2 – Jump Over To Assetto Corsa Competizione

  • Start up Assetto Corsa Competizione on whichever platform you’re racing on
  • Jump into a practice or race session
  • Load up the setup screen in game

Step 3 – Enter the setup from SimRacingSetups into your console

  • In your ACC setup screen on your console, input the setup values from the setup on SimRacingSetup
  • Once you’ve input the whole setup, save it as a preset to use in the future

Step 4 – Head out on track

  • Once the setup is loaded and saved, head out of the pits to test out the setup
  • I’d recommend following our tyre pressure tutorial to ensure you have the correct tyre pressures for the conditions you’re racing in – Find our ACC tyre pressure guide here

Using our ACC setups with PC using a JSON file

Some of our setups do feature a downloadable JSON file, in which case you can save time when installing our setups. If the setup doesn’t include a JSON file, you can still follow all of the steps above to use our setups on PC.

Step 1 – Find a setup you’d like to use

  • Browse our ACC setups on SimRacingSetup.com
  • Browse via the car you are looking for, and find the setup you’d like to try
  • If there is a JSON file available, it will be downloadable on the individual setup page
  • Click it to download it to your PC

Step 2 – Install the JSON file

  • You will have to move the downloaded JSON file to your ACC setups folder
  • You can find your setups folder here – C:\Users\YourNameHere\Documents\Assetto Corsa Competizione\Setups
  • Ensure you copy the JSON file to the correct folder structure within your setups folder
    • The structure will look like \Setups\CarNameHere\TrackNameHere
    • You can download the full setup folder structure here if you haven’t already got it (full credit to Günthar Rowe)

Step 3 – Jump Over To Assetto Corsa Competizione

  • Once you have installed the setups you’d like to try using step 2 above, boot up Assetto Corsa Competizione
  • Jump into a practice or race session
  • Load up the setup screen in game, and then click load setup
  • You will find your installed setups ready to load and use right away

Step 4 – Head out on track

  • Once the setup is loaded head out of the pits to test out the setup
  • I’d recommend following our tyre pressure tutorial to ensure you have the correct tyre pressures for the conditions you’re racing in – Find our ACC tyre pressure guide here

Using our first method above will allow you to use our Assetto Corsa Competizione car setups on Xbox, PlayStation and PC. If a JSON file is available for the setup you’d like to use, you can use our second method to speed up the process.

I hope this quick ACC tutorial helps. And hopefully you’ll find our Assetto Corsa Competizione setups fun and fast to drive with. Just don’t forget to adjust your tyre pressures after loading a new car setup!
