Outside of iRacing, Assetto Corsa Competizione is one of the most popular racing sim titles for competitive online multiplayer. A lot of its popularity comes from its integration with Low Fuel Motorsport. LFM provides a free platform to compete in various series, through scheduled seasons.
This format is very similar to how iRacing operates, with different license ranks to earn and series to compete in. But how do you set up Assetto Corsa Competizione with LFM? In this guide, I’ll run through how to start sim racing in ACC with LFM in a few easy steps.
Joining Low Fuel Motorsport is free to do, although there is a little setup process required before you can start competing.
You’ll need to create your free account and then complete a license test before you can start competing against other sim racers. The license test ensures you are fast enough to race on the LFM servers, and I’ll talk about this more later in this guide.
It is also recommended that you download LFM’s ACC Connector tool. This app was developed by “LoneMeow” and allows you to get into races quicker and easier. However, you do not need this app to start racing as you can join servers manually.
If you’ve made it this far, you’re probably aware of what Low Fuel Motorsport is, however, for those new to LFM and sim racing, lets have a look.
LFM is an independent competitive multiplayer platform for sim racing. They feature a range of series and leagues, allowing sim racers to compete against similarly skilled sim racers. Good results will improve your ELO which is a ranking factor, and allow you to move up the standings across a 12 week season.
If you’re new to ACC or LFM, I’d recommend reading our complete guide on Low Fuel Motorsport for ACC. In that guide, I run through all parts of how LFM works including the licenses, series, seasons, elo and more.
To get started competing in LFM, you’ll need to have or do the following things:
The trickiest part of getting started with Low Fuel Motorsport is the license test. This is designed to ensure all sim racers are of a competent level. There are two LFM test servers available, and the track rotates occasionally. This means that if you really can’t beat the license test, you may be able to after the track changes.
The goal of the license test is to complete 7 consecutive clean laps, with an average lap time faster than 107% of the track record. This means you can’t go off track, otherwise this will break your 7 lap run. At the end of your successful run, you will see within LFM that you’ve earned your license.
If you fail the license test, you can retry it as much as you need. You can even stay in the same session, constantly lapping until you reach 7 consecutive laps at the right speed.
LFM utilise the ACC Connector app, designed by “LoneMeow”. This tool is designed to quickly get you into the right server without having to search for it within Assetto Corsa Competizione’s server list. It is completely optional whether you use the app or not, but from experience, it definitely makes joining sessions that little bit easier.
To install the LFM ACC Connector app, follow the steps below;
With Low Fuel Motorsport featuring the fastest sim racers, and the series being highly competitive, you can gain an advantage by using our Assetto Corsa Competizione car setups.
All of our official car setups include specific LFM BoP setups, with updated setups releasing every week.

You do not need the ACC Connector app to use LFM in ACC. It is a tool which makes joining the correct server easier and faster, however, it isn’t a requirement.
Low Fuel Motorsport only works with ACC on PC. Unfortunately, you cannot use it on the console versions of the game, and LFM has stated they have no plans to incorporate the console versions in the future.
On the LFM website, you can see which track is being used for the license test. You can then head into any offline game mode and practice that track as much as you like. If you wish to recreate the same conditions as the license test, you can practice as much as you want in the license test server. You can spend an unlimited amount of time in the LFM test server, putting in as many laps as you need.
