The majority of racing wheels are compatible with Assetto Corsa. This is due to the game’s incredibly well-supported support and popularity as one of the most popular sim racing titles. Assetto Corsa is available on PC, Xbox and PlayStation, so ensure you have a wheel that is compatible with the platform you are racing on.
Even after ten years since its initial release date, Assetto Corsa remains one of the most popular sim racing titles. The game was the first in the series, followed a few years later by Assetto Corsa Competizione, which specialises in GT racing.
While Assetto Corsa 2 (known as Assetto Corsa Evo) is officially on its way, AC remains one of the best racing titles, especially for those who like modding games and using custom content.
One of Assetto Corsa’s big appeals is its incredible physics engine, which results in some of the most realistic and rewarding driving and racing of any game. This physics engine is emphasised by its wide compatibility with most racing wheels.
Playing Assetto Corsa with a racing wheel is one of the best ways to enjoy the simulation physics. When choosing a new wheel or setting up a racing wheel to use with Assetto Corsa, ensuring it is compatible with both the game, and the platform you are playing on is key.
In the guide below, I have listed all the racing wheels compatible with Assetto Corsa across all three platforms.
If you are looking to buy a new racing wheel for Assetto Corsa, read our buyer’s guide on the best racing wheels.
Assetto Corsa is one of the most popular racing games on PlayStation, along with Gran Turismo 7. For it to work with AC, your racing wheel must be PlayStation-compatible.

Much like choosing a PlayStation-compatible racing wheel, you must have an Xbox-compatible racing wheel to play Assetto Corsa on an Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One. Below is a complete list of all Xbox wheels that work with Assetto Corsa.
When racing Assetto Corsa on a PC, you get a much larger choice of racing wheels, because more wheels are compatible with a PC, including those in the PS5 and Xbox lists above. Some wheels may not be directly recognised in the game. However, you can manually configure almost any racing wheel to work in Assetto Corsa.
You can race Assetto Corsa using a controller or a gamepad on any of its three compatible platforms. Below are the officially supported controllers.
You can find an up-to-date list of all compatible peripherals on the official website for Assetto Corsa.
MOZA Racing is constantly updating and refreshing its lineup of racing wheels and sim racing peripherals. All MOZA Racing wheels were launched after the release of Assetto Corsa. However, all MOZA wheels are compatible with the game on PC. The Xbox-compatible MOZA Racing R3 wheel can also be used with Assetto Corsa on Xbox consoles.
One of MOZA Racing’s best racing wheels is the R9, a small direct-drive wheel capable of 9Nm of peak torque. This wheel works perfectly with Assetto Corsa on PC and packs a big punch despite its small size.
Since its release a few years ago, the MOZA R9 has had an upgrade that improved its force feedback detail and ensured it is compatible with all of MOZA’s current steering wheels.
Fanatec was once seen as the most popular brands within sim racing. The release of new brands such as MOZA and Asetek has made the sim racing hardware market much more competitive. However, the German sim racing brand still has some of the best racing wheels.
Fanatec’s current lineup of racing wheels includes the following;
My recommendation when choosing a new Fanatec racing wheel for Assetto Corsa or any sim racing game would be the GT DD Pro. It has been around for a few years; however, it packs a mighty punch of 8Nm of peak torque within a small frame.
The direct drive motor is the same as the one found in the revolutionary CSL DD, with Fanatec upgrading this wheel to allow for PlayStation compatibility. This PS5-compatible wheel is one of the few direct-drive wheels that can work with Assetto Corsa on a PlayStation console.
Logitech are well known as one of the best entry-level sim racing brands thanks to the success of wheels like the G27, G29 and G923. Each of these wheels has been competitively priced, offering solid performance and wide compatibility at a low price point.
All Logitech racing wheels work with Assetto Corsa, including the latest budget-friendly racing wheel, the Logitech G923. The much newer Logitech Pro racing wheel is the company’s first direct drive wheel and is also compatible with Assetto Corsa.
Thrustmaster offers one of the largest selections of racing wheels across various platforms and consoles. Their lineup primarily consists of belt-driven wheels, such as the popular T248 and impressive T-GT II.
They released their first direct drive wheel, the T818, a few years ago, which is compatible with Assetto Corsa on PC only. Other Thrustmaster wheels are compatible with AC on both Xbox and PS5.
