The Circuit Ricardo Tormo, or Valencia as it’s commonly known, was added in the 2023 GT World Challenge update, meaning we’ve had it in Assetto Corsa Competizione for around a year or so now.
It’s a circuit reminiscent of other European tracks, such as Misano, with a relatively flat layout, many medium-speed corners, and wide runoffs that allow you to really push your car’s limits.
I’m going to be taking you around a lap of Valencia in the Honda NSX GT3 to show you all of the recommended braking spots and the ideal racing line. This guide will hopefully bring you up to speed with Valencia, and allow you to unlock some extra lap time.
Recording this lap, we managed a lap time of 1:30.200, which put that lap time in the top 5% of drivers. To get into this top 5% range, you should be aiming for a lap better than a 1:31.000, with a lap time of 1:33.000 being considered good.
Video coming soon.

Jumping right into our track guide, it all starts at turn 1. Approach this corner with your car positioned far over the right of the track, using the red and white run off for a little extra room on the entry.
I like to use the colour change in the right-hand barrier as my braking reference, hitting the brakes just as this goes off-screen. Brake at full pressure, shifting down to third gear while starting to turn in towards the apex.
Lift off the brake pretty early into the corner and carry a lot of speed through the apex, starting to accelerate as you ride over the inside apex kerb. It is OK to really push the track limits on the exit, running right off the track and halfway over the green runoff. This lets you maximise your speed through the corner.
Braking Point | Gear | Minimum speed |

120 metres | 1 | 75 km/h |
Ensure you are back on the track before the kerb ends although you should continue to position your car half off the track. Then focus on your approach to turn 2.
You will want to start braking halfway between the start of the kerb and the white strip across the green runoff. Again utilise full brake pressure, even while turning in to the apex. Just before you reach the apex kerb, trail brake to allow for some additional rotation, while downshifting to first gear.
Aim to just clip the inside red and white kerb, while gradually getting back on the power right at the apex. Be prepared for a little oversteer on the exit, and use all of the green runoff but ensure you do not cross over it this time.
Turn 3 is a completely flat left hander and all your focus should be on getting your car to the left of the track ahead of turn 4.
Braking Point | Gear | Minimum speed |
---|---|---|
90 metres | 2 | 110 km/h |
Aim your car at the outside kerb on the approach, and just before you reach the kerb, start braking, ensuring that you straighten your steering wheel as you hit the brakes.
Trail brake in towards the corner while catching any instability that you may have under braking. Downshift to second gear, and aim to be completely off the brake pedal before reaching the inside kerb.
Use all of the inside kerb, while accelerating right at the apex. On the exit, use all of the run off area, and try to straighten your steering before turn 5 which comes at you fast.
You’ll want a short stab on the brake pedal while keeping your steering smooth throughout the approach. This whole sequence can be taken in second gear.
Try not to take too much inside kerb, as the grass is lurking close. Accelerate hard as you reach the apex and open up your steering a little, but not completely as you pull your car over to the right of the circuit.
Braking Point | Gear | Minimum speed |
---|---|---|
95 metres | 2 | 100 km/h |
Once you reach the right hand kerb, straighten your steering and brake as you reach the white marker on the right of the kerb. Downshift to second gear and start turning in while applying 100% brake input.
As you come away from the outside kerb, start trailing off the brake pedal, and aim to take a lot of the inside kerb. Maintain second gear while starting to accelerate through the apex.
There is a lot of runoff on the exit, letting you be aggressive on the throttle. Use all of the green strip, but don’t go onto the marbles beyond this.
Braking Point | Gear | Minimum speed |
---|---|---|
130 metres | 2 | 85 km/h |
The run to turn 8 is fairly long, with the left hander of turn 7 being a full speed kink. You don’t need to clip the inside kerb of 7, instead, maintain as little steering input as possible to maximise your approach speed.
Turn 8 is a long left hander, and on the approach, you’ll never straighten your steering fully. Use the outside kerb and start braking just before the white marker while maintaining a small amount of steering.
You can slightly straighten your steering during the heavy braking phase as you downshift to third and then second, as the rear can feel a little loose. With the rear settled, apply more steering input and start to trail off the brake pedal.
You will want to aim for a late apex with the perfect area dictated by an additional strip of green kerbing. Don’t use this green kerb, instead, cut across the red and white kerbing while accelerating.
Watch for any oversteer while trying to straighten your steering early through the acceleration zone. Use a little of the exit kerb before turning in to the fast turn 9 and 10 sequence.
These corners can be taken at full throttle, while you use the inside kerbing to shorten your route through these kinks.

The braking zone for turn 11 starts right at the apex of turn 10, where you’ll want to aim your car towards the outside of the track. Downshift to second gear, and before reaching the left-hand kerb, start rotating in towards the turn 11 apex.
Trail brake as you cut across the track from left to right, applying more and more steering lock. You will never reach the inside apex kerb instead focus on starting to accelerate gradually as you round this long hairpin. You can once again use all of the exit kerb and the extra run off to allow you to carry a lot of speed out of turn 11.

Continue driving down the runoff area on the approach to the fast turn 12 kink. Bump over the gap in the kerbing and start braking and turning right at the white brake marker.
This corner is incredibly fast, so downshift once to third gear, and immediately lift off the brake pedal as soon as you’re off the left hand kerb. The inside kerb here is large, but carry as much speed through as possible, riding right up and over the inside sausage kerb.
Keep a lot of steering input applied, as the exit isn’t very generous, so ensure you don’t push your speed too hard. The left hand bend of turn 13 is very clunky to start with. Accelerate hard throughout, pulling your car away from the bumpy inside kerb and into the middle of the track.
Braking Point | Gear | Minimum speed |

125 metres | 2 | 95 km/h |
As the corner tightens before the final corner, drift slightly further to the right of the track while maintaining enough left hand lock to not drift off track. As soon as you reach the white reference marker on the right side, start braking and straighten your steering briefly.
Downshift to third and then second and use the end of the green kerbing as your reference of when to turn in fully towards the apex. At this point, trail off the brakes, carrying around 90km/h through the apex and not quite hitting that inside kerb.
Accelerate through the corner while continuing to apply left hand lock and use the green runoff strip on the exit to maximise your speed towards the line to round out a complete lap of Valencia.
