Assetto Corsa Competizione is one of the most realistic and competitive sim racing titles. Many sim racers look to car setups to help improve both lap time and consistency. With the Low Fuel Motorsports series quickly becoming the go-to place for online competitive sim racing with ACC, a good car setup can make a big difference.

However, if you don’t fancy creating your own car setup, where is the best place to find ACC car setups. There are plenty of free ACC car setups from content creators on YouTube, or you can opt to buy a premium car setup.

In this guide, I’m going to compare two ways of buying car setups for ACC, buying a setup bundle or subscribing monthly. I’ll look at the pros and cons for both avenues to see which is the best value and which is right for you.

The difference between an ACC car setup bundle and a subscription

If you decide that a premium car setup is the way to go, you have two options.

On one side you can purchase a car setup bundle for the car you’re driving. All of our professional car setup bundles include multiple setups for every track in ACC. This is a fantastic option if you are racing a single car across an LFM series, or if you want to physcially own the setups you buy.

The alternative option is to subscribe to a setup subscription. This option unlocks more car setups, giving you the choice to download setups for any car and track combination, making a subscription a great option for sim racers who often race in different cars.

Both options will provide all of the setups you need, including various combinations of race, LFM, wet setups and more. But both options do have their own pros and cons to weigh up.

Choosing between a setup subscription and a bundle

Deciding which route is best for you, often comes down to your own sim racing habits. Do you race a variety of different cars? Do you want to own your car setups? Do you want unlimited downloads? These are all important questions.

Below is a detailed comparison showing the similarities and differences between buying a car setup bundle and subscribing.

Pros & cons of buying a car setup bundle

Pros

  • Own your car setups forever.
  • 12 months of free setup updates.
  • Excellent value.
  • 100+ car setups in each bundle.

Cons

  • Limits you to a single car.

Buying a car setup bundle remains the traditional way of accessing premium and expert car setups for ACC. The process is simple. You find a car you wish to drive, select the car setup bundle and purchase it.

When you buy any of our pro ACC setup bundles, you gain instant access to over 100 individual car setups for a single car. You’ll have access to optimal car setups for every track, and these include a variety of different setups per track.

Included car setups for each track are;

  • Race setup
  • Qualifying setup
  • Wet setup
  • LFM BoP setup
  • Pro Esports setup

As with most setup shops, all of our car setup bundles are updated weekly to include new and updated setups. We follow the Low Fuel Motorsports season, meaning each week will include the upcoming ACC LFM BoP car setup.

A car setup bundle is best for…

A setup bundle is perfect if you like to own your car setups forever. Unlike a setup subscription, which removes all car setups after a session and are unavailable to use once you stop subscribing, a purchased car setup bundle will remain in your library forever.

You also get better value out of a setup bundle compared to a subscription. One of our ACC setup bundles costs roughly the same as a month long subscription. It includes 12 months of free weekly updates meaning you’ll have access to the latest car setups for a whole year. And you get over 100+ car setups in each bundle.

Pros & cons of a setup subscription

Pros

  • Setups for every car included.
  • 1000s of individual setups.
  • Access to a setup app.

Cons

  • More expensive due to monthly cost.
  • Setups are gone after you stop subscribing.

The one way that an ACC setup subscription really comes into its own is if you often race using different cars. A single car setup bundle does limit you to just the car of your choice. Whereas a subscription lets you jump into any car, on any track, and have an optimal setup ready and waiting.

If you race in multiple LFM series using different cars, a subscription is a good option compared to purchasing multiple setup bundles. Although, we do offer bundles that include setups for every car.

Much like one of our bundles, a subscription grants you access to similar setups for each car that include different race, qualifying, Esports and LFM setups.

A car setup subscription is best for…

If you don’t know which car you like the most or often switch cars while sim racing, a subscription provides all the setups you need. It may be more expensive in the long run. However, you know you will always have access to any car and track setup combination.

Which setup subscription is best?

When it comes to setup subscriptions, we would highly recommend Delta, which is a platform created by Coach Dave Academy. This is one of the most comprehensive setup subscriptions, with excellent quality car setups. You can check out Delta here.

Is a setup bundle or a subscription better value?

Often, buying decisions come down to budget, making it a really important factor when choosing between a bundle or a subscription. Buying premium setups is an investment into the sim racing hobby, so you’ll want to extract as much value as possible from whichever setup you buy.

When buying a setup bundle, you’re paying a single price, and that’s all. You buy the bundle, and you own it forever. With any of our ACC setup bundles, you get access to free updates for 12 months, ensuring you always have the most up-to-date setup for any track.

Choosing a subscription is a bigger commitment, as you’ll be spending more in the long run. Our setup bundles are a very similar price to a single months subscription. This means that if you subscribe for more than a single month, you’re paying more than you would have if you purchased a setup bundle.

If you’re racing a single car throughout the year, a setup bundle provides much more value than a subscription. You’ll be paying the bundle price once, which is £13.99. Compared to subscribing monthly, totalling over £100 for a year.

Frequently asked questions

Are ACC setups worth buying?

If you are searching for a car setup that helps with both consistency and improves your speed, a professional ACC setup is worth investing in. There are free setups available, many of which are very good; however, they can be hard to find, and the quality can vary. With a premium car setup bundle, you’re ensured that the quality of every setup is excellent.

Is Assetto Corsa Competizione subscription based?

ACC is not a subscription-based game like iRacing. You can purchase Assetto Corsa Competizione through retailers such as Steam, with a variety of additional DLC available.

Is a setup subscription value for money?

An ACC setup subscription can be worth buying if you race multiple cars. However, across an entire year, or longer, a subscription can be expensive compared to buying a setup bundle.
