The latest Assetto Corsa Competizione DLC pack brings new GT2 cars and the Red Bull Ring track. It is launching on the 24th January 2024. Meaning, by the time you probably read this guide, the DLC will be launched and downloadable.
Assetto Corsa Competizione developers are spoiling us sim racers this year with two new tracks being added to the game. We knew that the Nordschleife was coming to ACC at some point thanks to the teaser video that Kunos released some time ago. And we also knew that we were getting new GT2 cars being added. What we didn’t expect was for a brand new track to be added to ACC as part of the GT2 DLC pack.
Today, Asseto Corsa Competizione is getting its newest DLC and included with that is the Red Bull Ring track. By the time you read this article, it will more than likely have launched and you might even have had some time to put in a few laps around the famous Austrian circuit.
While new cars are always a good thing and are something we can all get excited about, nobody knows the popularity of the GT2 cars that are being added. Even after the GT4 cars were added to Assetto Corsa Competizione a while ago, the GT3 series is still by far the most popular, and I can’t see that changing any time soon.
GT2 cars aside, a brand new track is a huge addition to any racing sim, especially ACC which hasn’t seen a new track added since Valencia last year. A new track will certainly add some extra excitement to the game, and there aren’t many tracks that I enjoy racing on more than the Red Bull Ring in Austria.
The 2.7-mile circuit is without a doubt one of my favourite tracks to race, be it in F1 23 or iRacing. And now, we can all attack this famous circuit in one of the best well-rounded racing sims. The reason this track is being added alongside the GT2 cars is most probably due to it being a part of the 2023 GT2 European Series.
Alongside the Red Bull Ring circuit are six new cars which are all accessible on January 24th as part of the GT2 car pack DLC. Below are the cars that are being added, and we have a decent selection of GT2 track monsters.
There are GT2 evolutions of the Audi R8 LMS, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche 911 cars that we already have in game. And then there are some brand new cars including the Maserati MC20 GT2.
The latest Assetto Corsa Competizione DLC featuring a selection of GT2 cars and the Red Bull Ring track is releasing on the 24th January 2024. This DLC will be available immediately for sim racers who race ACC on Steam and PC.
While the GT2 DLC pack is releasing first on PC which is normal procedure. It will still be released at a later date on both Xbox and PS5 consoles. The release date for the console release hasn’t been given just yet. Generally, there is around a 2 or 3 month delay between the PC and console DLC launch, so we could expect to see this GT2 pack hitting Xbox and PS5 stores around March or April.
Once the GT2 cars have been added to Assetto Corsa Competizione, we will spend some time with them before releasing ACC GT2 car setups. The plan, however, is to add setup bundles for GT2 cars in ACC as soon as feasibly possible, so keep your eyes peeled on our ACC setups page.
